I've noticed a trend with people that own a Wii that a lot of you are not nearly as happy with your purchase as you'd like to make it seem. I've seen petition and argument again and again about Devil May Cry 4, Resident Evil 5, Metal Gear Solid 4, etc, etc, with Wii owners complaining about these games not coming out for their console. If you were truly happy with your purchase, you'd be happy with the games that were coming out for it. I've yet to even once see a PS3 or 360 owner here petitioning for a Wii exclusive game like No More Heroes or Zack and Wiki or Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles.

Again, bumped by a petition hater. 

Whether the franchise belongs to a console or not, most have come to associate it with the Nintendo brand and many fans of franchises like following that brand. Devil May Cry fans have always had Devil May Cry on the Sony consoles. Onimusha fans have always had the Onimusha main series on the Sony consoles. GTA fans have always had the GTA games on the Sony consoles. Final Fantasy fans have had the main series Final Fantasy games on the Sony consoles (when of course there were Sony consoles for them to be on at the very least). Whether valid or not, its a mindset many adhere to and the Resident Evil fandom is particularaly bitter about having to jump ship from the PS1 to the Dreamcast to the GC/Wii and now to the 360/PS3.

Sorry, but the philosophy here is not that people are unhappy with the Wii, its that they're uhappy with third party support and want games that the #1 console of a generation deserves. It's principle. Why settle for rushed projects when you can have the creme of the crop. I'm sorry you don't understand but your contempt is appreciated for bumping this thread if nothing else.

Didn't you buy the GameCube which had no backwards compatibility? I don't think you're telling the entire truth. You mean to tell me you would just not play games you love over backwards compatibility? I'm going to have call bullshit on that one because, you hated on the PS3 even when it did have it. I think you would enjoy gaming more if you were more open minded towards it. There are multiple games on the PS3 that you want, yet you turn the other cheek for some odd reason.

That's why you should buy a console that has support to you liking. It makes no sense to ignore the console that has the third-party games you want.

The Gamecube didn't have a predicessor that played discs so it was forgiveable and now those games which couldn't be played on the Gamecube are now being made available on the Wii, so its a self remedying situation.

I wasn't on this forum before the announcement of the PS3 removing true B/C with the 80GB SKU so I'm not sure how you've come to such conclusions. I know I was at the very least dissapointed in that you had to upgrade your PS3 to play PS2 games half decently and had to buy extra peripherals just to use Memory Cards. But that's neither here nor there.

At the beginning of this generation I was dissapointed with all three consoles and saw each as a no win, I've warmed up to the Wii though over time and now favor it. I think you might have me confused for someone else.

For the record DMC4 and RE5 are also on the 360, so why this is only about the PS3 to you baffles me. If I had to choose I'd just go with the 360 because it has more prospective games I would possibly want and doesn't require manditory instalations.

The PS3/360 have only two third party games I want. The Wii has 15 first party games I want. I think the decision is pretty clear. I'm not shelling out extravagant amounts of money just for two games I can wait for either a port or compliation of next generation. Its common sense.

I'm quite sure thousands of Japanese PS3 owners are upset because they won't be able to play Monster Hunter 3 unless they get a Wii as well. And you seriously cannot compare famous, established games like Resident Evil to new, niche IPs such as Zack & Wiki.
