So am finishing up on my Fire Emblem, and now I need another RPGesq game to stay in my fridge an marinate till I get around to playing it.
Anyone have this game? Do you like it? I hear there is 2 player modes, yet cant find info on them. Are they good or do they not exsist?
P.s Never played any Dragon " Quest " games, played more Dragon warrior way back in the day, should I still pick this game up?
Heard its quite simple compared to real RPGs. Might put a "real" RPG player off.

Never played Dragon Quest game? Don't start with this one.
Judging this as an "Dragon Quest" game would be like judging Soul Caliber game on Wii as a true SC game.

i dont know it was on my radar for about a month but i never picked it up after seeing some of the game footage
I would pick up Baiten Kaitos for 15 bucks used, maybe Fire Emblem GC, Skies of Arcadia Legends, Tales of Symphona.
The next real RPG for Wii coming is ToS:DoTNW in June. Make sure you play ToS first.

It's basically the DQ equivalent of Final Fantasy Mystic Quest: an easy RPG for newbies to the genre. I'd give it a pass if I were you.

Dragon Quest Swords is basically a 1 player on rails sword slashing game. If that sort of thing interesty you, then try the game out. If not, then do as bigjon sugested and look for used GC RPGs.

If you think Mystic Quest isn't easy, you must not be very good at games. Square's stated reason for making MQ was to create a dumbed-down, easy RPG for Americans in order to introduce them to the genre. As such, it is very easy - even easier than the 16-bit Final Fantasy games, which are petty simple in their own right.
Anyway, sorry for the derail. Suffice to say that DQ: Swords is an attempt at much the same thing, thus why it was met with lackluster reviews.

I would look for some others to be honest, DGS is not the greatest of RPG's
