Only if they make it unpleasant. They can just review the new version and end every review with "Worse on the older console, duh."

Exactly this, as performance issues are the only difference between the two versions. There should be information given on how it performs on both versions and then the rest of the review can be the same as normal.
They should review it on both the pieces of hardware. I think new owners will also want to know how it runs on their version of the console.
The indutstry needs to move all advertising, reviewing, and mindshare to the newest hardware. A nod to the experience on older hardware should happen very much like we see in reviews of software on Smartphones.
Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.
