Yea, yea. We all knew someone was going to start this topic eventually, i just had less to do at the moment.

Anyway, what you guys think? A few points:
- The world is in ruins from what we have seen so far. So this would hardly be in the "root" of the timelines (SS to OoT)
- Koroks have only appeared in WW before, so this could hint at the Adult Link Timeline.
- But world is not flooded, so maybe not the Adult era. (Also, not enough water, so 10/6).
- Sheikah are only seen on the "root" or on the Fallen Hero timeline. In BotW there are plenty Sheikah symbols around.
- The way bombs and magic works suggest an advanced technology/magic knowledge, so that could point it as being far in the future. Then again, Link is the hero, so maybe we can't use his skills as a parameter. Guardians also look very advanced.

I am thinkin defeated timeline after Zelda II or before LoZ. I think the Koroks are the natural state of the kokiri, and they only show themselves in human form when hyrule is in power (for good relations.) I just played WWHD recently and the Great Deku Tree gave that impression this time I played it. Since the korok evolution relies on TGDT's magic, it could be possible he did the same in the defeated timeline as he did in AT.

Also remember that  in Skyward Sword advanced technology implies the past.

The Majora's Mask route where it is the long future and everything is in ruins

..but honestly, the Zelda Timeline doesn't even make sense and is there trying to tie the games together :/

Personally, based almost solely on the Koroks, I'm thinking it takes place after Phantom Hourglass (no idea if before or after Spirit Tracks, though). I think this because the Kokiri only evolved to be Koroks because of the flood, so it can't take place before WW and PH. I think BotW will explain what happened to the flood.

It will unite the timelines.

I was inclined to say TWW timeline as well because of the Koroks + Cell shading.. though a lot of the locations aren't present in that timeline as far as I know.. (Lake Hylia, Temple of Time, Death Mountain, Eldin Bridge, etc.)

The main reason why I do not think it is the adult timeline is because the hero of winds and Zelda founded new hyrule in that timeline. Plus there was a huge emphasis on decay and ruin which are characteristics of the hero defeated timeline.

Seems to me like they could put it in any branch. Although the adult timeline is the least likely to me, because the idea of Hyrule de-flooding sounds like a far-fetched explanation, and explaining why Sheika technology exists could be hard. I think it would be really easy to place this in the other timelines (although the downfall timeline would be easier because of Ganon being in this game when he died in Twilight Princess, and the resemblance to the mountains in Zelda 1.

Just cause they haven't shown them before doesn't mean they weren't there. They were just all under the ocean.
