Forums - Gaming - Citra the 3DS emu now runs much faster thanks to new unofficial GCC AVX,SSE3+4 Build Check out gameplay inside.

It's frightening how fast emulation for WiiU/3DS is going. I'd love to play my 3DS games on PC, even if it's just to play them on a bigger screen.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Yeah - the progression is great.

Same with the PS3 one - people have said it'll be impossible but nothing is impossible to change/modify if its man-made.

Wont be a matter of time before PSVita will experience the same one - hopefully the ppsspp team is working on it ;p.

We'll need to wait a couple of years for PS3 emulation to be even feasible. And I haven't even heard of anyone making a Vita emulator yet. Did the PPSSPP team say something about it?

Wow, looks good. I hope that within a year I'll be able to play all DS and 3DS games on my PC

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

What exactly might Nintendo change to make this more difficult? Emulation seems to be coming dangerously close to working within the actual lifespan of the console itself.

Nothing. The is nothing they can do to stop The WiiU and 3DS being emulated.

I meant for future consoles or handhelds.

Release PC versions and earn money instead.

This is going to be great for fan translations and mods.
A couple games could also benefit from better AA and bigger screen.

Whats up everyone So the 3DS emu Citra got a big speed boost thanks to some chines dude who made an unoffical GCC AVVX,SSE3+4 builds.

Some games now run close to full speed on my PC and will be full speed on many peoples PC's.

Heres Project X Zone

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxDl5GRRr4Q

This is running at 1440P

using a newer version of the GCC build that allows you to change the screen layout.

This game imo is pretty much PERFECT! as is.

Yes it has slow downs on my CPU, but it doesnt matter as much in a game like this imo since its an SRPG.

Heres Zelda MM3D

https://www.youtube.com/embed/qPO1x22KKYE

On 3DS it runs at 30FPS (And lower), here it almost never goes below 30FPS as you can see.

But yet for some reason the game doesnt seem full speed unless its running close to 60FPS, anyone know why this is??. Other then that the game is Fully playable as is IMO.

Heres Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures using a newer version of this GCC build that allows you to change the screen layout.

Im running the game at 1440P.

The game looks pretty much perfect, but even with this build it runs very slow.

But i guess you guys with a better CPU will fare much better.

Heres Dragon Ball Z - Extreme Butoden

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsLmMBv7ux4

Im running the game at 1440P and other then the game running kinda slow on my CPU (lowering the res doesnt help with this) it seems perfect.

Heres Kingdom Hearts 3D

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5FyLk5MMCE

using this build with the framrate being between 18-27FPS but spending most time at 20FPS.

Id also imagine that for people with a more powerful CPU the game will be full speed or pretty close to it.

Heres Bravely Default

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1cgRHsbb_E

As you can see with this build the game runs much faster, between 30-60FPS and is almost fullspeed.

Bro Im disappointed at what you call 30fps.

Fraps may claim 30fps on that Zelda demo but it sure as hell aint 30fps! It looks more like 10-15fps specially in the open field, it's slow mo lol. Go watch how it runs on a real 3DS.

Also, the sound alone makes it unplayable still.

Maybe in a year or 2 it'll be playable with good sound.

Damn theives

I don't like the concept of emulation when it's regarding a currently supported platform. I forgot what the heck makes it all legal though...
