Forums - Gaming - Best of Show e3 2016

I have too little information to properly render a judgment, since they didn't show any gameplay footage, but I have high hopes for the new Spider-Man (because Insomniac) and Death Stranding (because Kojima). I am definitely very interested in ReCore and Sea of Thieves as well.

While I know people will complain, I am much more interested in the slower paced, less QTE oriented, possibly more RPG-focused God of War. That said, I did get a very strong TLOU Winter-chapter vibe from that presentation -- not that I am complaining.

Obviously, Mass Effect Andromeda could be amazing, but I am still mad about Mass Effect 3, so I will reserve my judgment.

What was so disappointing about it? I never was huge on resident evil so i didnt know what to expect

Looks way better than the straight up action games that was RE5 and 6 imo.

Sony over Microsoft.

But there were only two games that got my attention so far :

- Death Stranding ( looks interesting, but we'll see when there's going to have actual gameplay )
- Resident Evil Biohzard

The same here, somehow the other games they showed looks and feels old...

I forgot about Dishonored 2. That's a game I KNOW I will like. It has the feel of Dishonored except a lot more open and alive.

My favorite moments from E3 so far:

  1. Horizon: Zero Dawn.  It looked fun, interesting, and exciting.
  2. God of War reveal
  3. Dishonored 2 gameplay.  I know I'm going to love this game.
  4. Zelda trailer.  This is what Nintendo needs.
  5. Forza Horizon 3 was really pretty.
  6. Tekken 7 trailer was fun.
  7. Prey trailer.  I liked what I saw.
  8. Death Stranding was really, really interesting.
  9. Battle Field 1 looks varied in terms of combat.  Hope single player is extensive.
  10. Spiderman.  Dare I hope it ends up good?
  11. Sea of Thieves gameplay.  Okay, it looks standard MMO but the navel battles were really cool.
  12. Call of Duty.  What?  Yeah, it looked fun, like a better Killzone--and better than Titan Fall 2.

Zelda smashed me to pieces. I don't even need to watch the other stuff to say that it won.

Now that I've seen enough about Zelda: Breath of the Wild, I can say that it won this E3 for me, by a lot, it's the most hyped I've been for a game in a long time.

Honestly, Zelda floored me.  It smashed all my expectations, it laid every doubt to rest.  I'm loving Horizon, I'm stoked for Final Fantasy XV, God of War looks really cool, and all that is all great but Zelda is without a doubt the Best of Show for me.

And that is *purely* a compliment to Zelda and not a knock on the rest of the show.  From what this E3 has shown the next 12 months are going to be an exceptionally amazing time to be a gamer.  I'm pumped, more pumped than I've been in a while.

Forza Horizon 3
Days Gone
Battlefield 1
And that is about it. I will probably buy Gears 4, and watch most PS4 games on YouTube because that is about as good as they are.

I am still getting IW even though it look horrid because of COD4, don't judge me.

Moderated - Starcraft

So is this guy not allowed to have an opinion?

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m
