I think there's nothing wrong at all. These announcement of games that wont be released for awhile provides longevity to that particular system, giving buyers a better piece of mind when choosing a system, knowing that there are particular games they're looking forward to will be release down the road.

Personally, after E3 2015 I was glad to know that my PS4 was getting games in the years to come.

Also it's a marketing thing for media, you hear news about movies being made but wont be released in the next or two either. That's just how the world works in this industry.

Considering what happened to The Last Guardian or FF15, I'd worry.

Those 2 games seem to be the only games people can think of (and Zelda Wii U) to complain about the length time for release.  And if you look at the history of every single game release time frame, like a fraction of a percent of games that's gone way longer than it should.

And i'm not worried because I still have a bunch of other PS4 games im looking forward to that are being released in the next year or so.  And I think that's a good feeling.  Better to have that feeling than to have a feeling of owning a system and not know what games are planning to be released for it in the long run.

I've stated this before, but if every announced E3 game were to release within a 6-8 month time frame then everybody's wallet would be hurting bad lol

You know what? Honestly?

I don't care.

Like, at all. It doesn't matter to me. Why should it? When a game releases, if I want to play it, I'll play it. Period, end of drama. Did I first hear about it two years ago? Two months ago? I really don't care. My priority is playing games that look interesting. It's not announcements, it's not delays, it's not the mythical and undefined element of "hype" everyone seems to simultaneously demand and complain about--it's the games themselves.

When the game releases, at that point I will make my decision. Everything else is superfluous.

What's mythical and undefined about hype?

The part where it doesn't really exist except in people's heads, which is why we get those silly arguments about whether a game is "over-hyped" or not.

That's not necessarily true: games would still come out as planned but we'd be hearing about them much later than usual.

So it's like an emotion?

It's extremely subjective.  Is there a universally accepted set point for "too much hype"?

Most people that talk about it usually qualify it with something like "I've seen a lot of people talking about it on forums".  What if it's just the forums you visit and most other forums barely mention it?  Is Persona 5 "too hyped" because we talk about it a lot on VGC?  I bet there are lots of gamers who don't even know what Persona is and a lot of forums where it's not a popular topic at all.

I'm not going to let some nebulous concept like that ruin my gaming experience.

Yeah it's riddiculous.
