I thought people complain that all Nintendo does is Mario and Zelda. As a first party, you at least have the possibility of new IPs and revival of old ones. Remember, the 3DS and Wii U saw the revival of Kid Icarus, a sequel to Luigi's Mansion, a new IP in Splatoon, Nintendo Land, Wonderful 101, etc., and the emergence of Fire Emblem. 

plus, as much as I'm sure it pains fans of the Metroid series, the franchise has not been known as a big-time seller as a few of its titles have sold at least 3 million. I'm not sure how a game (even if it goes back to the traditional 3D or 2D Metroid) could sell 10 million even as a multiplat.

I don't know. To be fair they're all mostly consistent, but there's a degree of disenchantment from my end with them, and I'm not sure where to point the finger to, particulary.

I think paid online, terrible interfaces and overall not consistent consoles are to blame. The later point is the worst one, because I don't really care much about performance and such but it's terribly obvious that these consoles are all underpowered, and while I wouldn't want new console/revisions that lock out previous iterations, I can't also phantom to be stuck with hardware that's aging rapidly and will be out of date sooner than later. I never had this issue last gen, but the incredible focus on performance and raw data this new one has warped my views.

Microsoft- fix the windows store. Make an actual competitor to steam.

Sony- either fix handheld or be done with it. Stop making phones as well. Consoles are their obvious selling point.

Nintendo- ohhhhh boy I can write a book for Nintendo
