The site says that the console launch in Agust 31th, 1 day is enought to affect the Agust NPD ?, would it not affect the September NPD instead ?.

Yes, sales will affect August (for reason Swordf1sh has mentioned) and September. If Sony feel as if sales of the PS4 are down they'll likely reduce the price in order to meet their targets. Beating the XB1 sales won't be their priority just a 'possible' result of a price drop. Winning or losing isn't something Sony will be too interested in, meeting targets is. People need to realise they're a business and they make business decisions, not PS4 fans sitting on forums. You don't lose money in the long run just to win one or two months in the short term.

Yeah they care a lot more about hitting that 20m fiscal year target than losing a couple of NPDs. Considering that, however, 20m is quite a lofty goal, and so I would expect a price cut well before November (maybe October again) and the possible relatively quick release of the Neo.

The PS4's lineup for Q1 CY 2017 is already looking strong with Persona 5 and Horizon releasing in February. Depending on when NieR Automata and FFXII: The Zodiac Age comes out, it should close out the fiscal year strongly.

The 20m is a sure fire indication that at least a slim and a price drop are coming. I'm not certain about Neo though, I got the distinct impression that Sony pulled a section from their conference in order to re-evalute their strategy in light of the possible launch of the Scorpio next year. The dev kits mean nothing really because any improvements using those specs would still be noticable and an upgrade would only affect the few games currently being upgraded with Neo mode. There's a question Sony will be considering: Do we release the Neo (as is) early and then release another more powerful console a year after the Scorpio or do we beef up the specs and release it alongside the Scorpio. I say alongside the Scorpio because even beefing it up now means MS could up the ante when the Scorpio finally releases. For me, I think it's best to release the Neo as is early and then offer another console a year after the Scorpio.

I think NPD's months begin on Mondays, so their August period should run from Aug. 1 to Aug. 28, while their September period should run from Aug. 29 to Oct. 2.

So September NPD starts at the end of August. So PS4 should take August then.

Oh, so the PS4 isn't likely to be affected in August. Thanks.

Lets hope the increase in XBoxe sales gets some of the software pre orders in the list too, damn PS4 is still dominating, nice to see zelda listed!

I miss the vita :(

Their closest next release is Recore isn't ?, I think that is on September, we should see it climbing the chartz soon.

Hmm, maybe the current software positions suggests the majority of XB1S sales are replacements...

Someone should've indexed Gamestop trade-in prices from before E3.
