Forums - Gaming - Staying in an Eco-System, Not On A Console.

With the strong rumors of a PSNeo and Xbox Scorpio, hitting a supposed 4.1 and 6+ Teraflops respectively, I believe we are at the start of a constant upgrade cycle.

That said, I now feel the boxes themselves are not the focus anymore and now it is more about the eco-system.... all our games, trophies / gamerscore and peripherals as well as subscriptions and other benefits will come with us as we upgrade every few years.

I find myself feeling I will not change now from the PlayStation eco-system unless something incredibly bad / anti-consumer happens there. The exclusives, first party studios, my friends, trophies and my games collection that will now be carried forward are all things assuring my continued use of PlayStation.

Have Microsoft and Playstation locked themeselves in to their player bases by using this itterative approach based arounf the eco-system?

Would you change now that your gamer-score / trophies, games, subs, saves and friends will be linked to your gamertag / PSN profile?

Around the Network

I'm not fussed about trophies, there was a time when I was really into boosting my gamer score, but then I found myself hating the games I was playing, the way I was playing them and I stopped playing altogether for a time.

Overall though, PlayStation has typically has much better exclusives, imo, to the point now where I'm happy with just my PS4 and PC.
