I would take Titanfall over many SP games this gen.
I put hundreds of hours on that game and it never felt stale while playing it. If that doesn't merit the game with a $60 tag, I don't think a 10-15 hour linear game deserves it as well.

I play only SP games but I have nothing against mp games.

By fast, do you mean over the span of a decade, or what? Because any good dev is gonna keep the servers up for a long ass time. Who cares if the servers are shut down after 10 years? You're entire life has changed at that point, there's been a decade of great game releases, and you've probably long forgotten this game by now. So go ahead, if you wanna be bitter about it, no one is stopping you. But just because you're all bitter and THINK that we're getting gouged doesn't mean that there aren't millions of gamers out there that are pouring hundreds of fun hours into these multiplayer games. Worth way more than your average singleplayer game. |
You are very optimistic.
Though i have to laugh at the "bitter" comment. I told you buy them if you want. I could'nt care less how you want to spend your money. But, i'm not spending my money on them, that's for sure. I'm not even an FPS fan. So, even if they had SP i probably wouldn't buy them.
But, the facts are the facts. They are risky buys.

Move forward, stop, save, move forward, stop, save, move forward, stop, save, game over 10 hours later. So fulfilling. So worth the price tag. |
Every move forward you mentioned means seeing something new. You gonna say he is bitter aswell. Dude... you like a certain type of game. Not everyone does and they question their worth. Perfectly normal. Move on.
Also... howcome is every single player game is a 10 hour game? That is a very weak argument and you know it.
I wouldn't say it's biased because that is usually the case with these games

Every game/movie/music/etc purchase is risky. And no, not every SP game is 10 hours. But every MP only game isnt a roll of the dice risk where the servers might shut down at any moment either.
Also, you see new things in MP games all the time. No two matches are the same :)

Really, it never bothers me when some new franchise is exclusively multiplayer... the only time I'm bothered is when it's a new installment in a franchise that I used to love to play single player. Easily the most obvious recent example for me is Battlefront, which was just terribly disappointing and, unsurprisingly, grew old within a couple days. Otherwise, the trend goes hand in hand with the decline in quality coop campaigns. It seems like developers are realizing features that were once a given in games can today be skipped while still selling just fine. |
I could say the same for those that put loads if not tons of effort into their SP experiences and then decide to just shove it all off the table when it coems to MP, especially when I look at games like DOOM with it's MP being geared towards console players and not PC gamers as well, that also happens to include snapmap which had potential but was very limited in what it could do due to being tied to what current gen could do and in the end it becomes a waste due to their focus shift.
Not every game needs SP injected into their games as much though let alone MP, they work both ways and when you try to craft two then you better be good at crafting those two aspects of your game, if not then just foxcus on one side and don't bother with the other, I'd rather have a great DOOM campaign with no bad MP and no limtied snap map and instead get SP mod support than what we have now. I'd rather have a fully functional and well polished Titanfall MP than it being hacked to pieces to appeal to crowd that never bothered with the first one unless it came with a bigger SP aspect.
I wish arena shooters would come back in a massive way but they certainly do not need to have SP forced into them in order to become popular again or sell well.

It's rare to see bots in any MP games these days which was why I was happy to see them in games like TF2, Titanfall, Overwatch, Heroes of the storm etc.
