It's because the delays have stopped.  Tbh, I don't think there really were any serious delays last year.  I think that Sony was just being very ambigious about release dates early on (Lair COULD come out in May), to avoid admitting that the ps3 was having a severe drought, and to help prop up sales. Now Sony actually says when a game should hit, because they know they have plenty of titles coming before it.

Ooooh i forgot about God of War III :D

Add another Ratchet and Clank and they year will just be sooo good! I wonder if Insomniac are in the pre-stages of making the next game yet? Only they will know i suppose :P

From what I understand, they have one team that works on R&C, and one that works on Resistance.  Then a third group who moves between the two projects as they get more underway.  So they have probably started some work on their next game after R2.

Nice one, would be great to have a follow-up to R&C as TOD left it totally open for a sequel :D

Later in the thread from E0N, in response to accusations that MotherH said the date was false:

Now, that's NOT true. We're not confirming OR denying the date - we're simply saying that you shouldn't take any date as gospel unless you heard it from us.

The way it sounds to me is that it's currently set for September, but that the date is by no means final, and they are not planning to announce an "official" date until later in the year, so if the date gets moved they won't get bitched at. :P

I'm more looking forward to Resistance 2 anyway and Insomniac have a habit of sticking to their release dates :D

The biggest woes to befall the PS3 is the constant 2nd and 1st party software delays. Having the huge, big budget titles glimmer into abscense month after month after the initial release dates are set looks very bad and won't exactly help hw sales.
This is finally coming to an end it seems, and its about time.
Having brilliant inhouse dev's count for nothing if they can never meet a single deadline.
Things are looking up now though, and I think I choose the right year to join the ranks of PS3 owners!
