Atelier Firis: Alchemist of the Mysterious Journey

http://gematsu.com/2016/05/atelier-firis-announced-ps4-ps-vita

"Firis" and Journey huh, maybe it'll be like a modern version of the Iris/PS2 games. Would be a nice change of pace, though they'd have to make alchemy more relevant (was barely a side activity in those games) and i'd want a return to normal Atelier either after this game or after a trilogy of these

Some info from magazine:

-The girl on the left is Firis' older sister
-The theme of the game is travel. Firis doesn't have a set atelier. She travels around and does alchemy in many places
-There are many areas like mountain/snow areas. Biggest world in the series
-There are areas where city and mountain are all in single area
-As Firis travel, her outfits change accordingly. There is also concept of time progression (I don't think this is talking about time-limit)

Game system

-Choice: player's choice affect the game's world and progression

For example, there is a broken bridge in a lake.
A: you can ask a carpenter to fix the bridge. The residents will thank you and give you information on monsters
B: you can decide to find other way. You found a cave near the lake. The cave might have strong monster but you might also find good materials

-Bonfire system

There are bonfires around the fields. You can set a tent on any of those bonfires and starting doing alchemy there.

Around the Network

"biggest world in the series"
"time progression" ( & growing up)
"outfit changes to fit the area shes in"
"player choice shapes the world"

Sounds good to me.

Amazing how many Atelier games have come out (how frequent), and theyre still good quality.

Never got into the Atelier series, only game I ever played from the developer was Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis(didn't finish though), rpg's were supposed to be the ones that really got me into gaming after the NES(yup, skipped right to the PS1 era), now the only rpg I'm interested in are the Persona series, .hack, and some western rpg's, I hope I'll at least finish Tokyo Mirage Sessions.

Edit: Almost forgot FFXV . . .

No PS3 version hey?

Well that is good. Look forward to seeing gameplay.

With a Vita version though, don't expect any technological steps forward.  Not that any niche Japanese series has really moved much since the PS2 era.

Anyway, super hyped for this, looks great.

My friend has a PS Vita, so I might borrow it to play this new one. On a side note, the first thing I thought when I saw Bonfire system was Dark Souls...

Good to see, there is no ps3 version and hope to see a first trailer soon...

I think it should be PS3

How is this game series? I've never tried it before. It does sound interesting from these details though.

Looking forward to it.

Another one? I feel like they're coming out with too many of these. I can't hope to keep up anymore.
