Oh yeah. That's right. Atlus published the game... but I do believe Nintendo had a hand in making Person of Lordly Caliber with Quest.

It's sad... there are like... 5 unmade Ogre Battle games.

This game was so good...I would actually call it an RTS/SRPG hybrid the way the actual game played. It was one of my favorite N64 games for sure.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Ever play the SNES/PS1 game? It's good as well and the only game like it. (aside from the cellphone game.)

Well I hear Soul Nomad and the World Devourers' is kinda similar too but i won't know until it comes in the mail.  The good thing about the SNES/PS1 version is you can see your chaos frame so it's easier to know what ending you'll get.

It will prpbably never see the light of Virtual Console day. Sorry to burst your bubble. It is my second favorite game of all time, however.

 because Square bought the developer, Quest.  however, the game was published (at least in the US) by Atlus.  i don't know the specific details of who actually owns the rights, but since there hasn't been a game in the ogre series after Square's aquisition of Quest, it's safe to say the series is too complicated to return.  kinda like Goldeneye with Nintendo and Rare.  too bad, i loved ogre battle 64 and knights of lodis.

is ogre battle the same series as tactics ogre on the gba... cus if it is it should be a great game. i loved tactics ogre on the gba

Simple answer below:

Because there are too many hands in one small pot.

@youjiro:

No, it is different. In my opinion, better.

It's the same "series" but the original Ogre Battles weren't garbage like most "Tactics" games.
