Thank god. A horror game must have restrictive controls to be good. If you are a superheroe it doesnt work well.

Its 2016, if you can't make a horror game with proper responsive controll its on you. Gimping the players capacity to properly interact with the world is bad design, plain and simple. Tank controlls were never a design decision btw, they happened due to limitations of the engine Capcom was woking with.

Anyway they say RE will go back to it's roots every new RE, and altough Revelations 2 did some of that very well done, all the other games don't deliver on this promisse.

Do you know what this all sounds like? It sounds like The Evil Within. I cant recall people saying it was the revival of survival horror.

TEW was great

I agree, but not to this certain audience

Why not just mix the Resident Evil 5 gameplay with the classic mansion/Raccoon City design? I'm not sure I'd like to go back to tank controls and having to carry keys in my inventory that weight as much as a shotgun, to be honest.

Nothing about this suggests that any of that is happening.

They said the same thing for re 6 and look how that turned out.
I'd like to see the series go back to it's roots but without Mikami I don't see that happening.

"[...] Resident Evil 7 is in development and the game will return to the horror roots it was known for with the PS1 trilogy".

Fear the old blood, spemanig. Fear it.

That was what made the game fun to me

The fact that you can just aim and head shot all the enemies screws the game up

RE4 and after are the games that made me into a fan of the franchise, so I hope it's not just going to end up like the games before RE4.

That doesn't mean it's going to have tank controls and crappy inventory management.

That just means it's not gonna be a campy action game like the last three.

I wanted it to have maze-like maps, puzzles, limited inventory and so on

But it will not
