I don't have an Xbox One or PS4. Kill me please

I feel ashamed to admit, but I haven't played a final fantasy game since '07. I played "Dissidia: Final Fantasy" and fell in love with the game. Haven't played a game from the series since.

I'll probably wait out on buying it just to see if it'll be recommended or not for "newcomers" to the series.

A great thing for me is that I  have little expectations for games. Playing on the DS/3DS and a 480p PC from '07-'15 has really made me appreciative of modern games- I could care less if Final Fantasy XV has some bad textures or framerate drops*

Anyways, the only thing that makes me hesitant is the new style of Final Fantasy- it has changed quite a bit since '07. It's a change that makes  me wonder whether or not the games are still great. The game gives me a "xenoblade"-like vibe in terms of world and gameplay. I enjoyed Xenoblade, but the battle system wasn't exactly good...I don't think I'll be able to play another open world where the battle system isn't the best.

*Perhaps you may be quick to remember me criticizing the demo for having "horrible framerate" drops. Well, funny story; since I don't have a PS4 or Xbox One, I decided to go to a local game store and try the demo out. Turns out, their PS4 was messed up for some reason, making the quality of anything I played on it decrease dramatically. I still haven't managed to play the demo on a fully working PS4, and I hope I can.

I mean...I won't be buying it because I'm not interested in the series...

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

You're not buying it because its not on the wii u

It looks amazing, it's cracked up to be a huge game but...I stopped playing FF after 9. They changed styles and I didn't really like it. Moving on for me.

Got it for preorder. I've played every FF of the main series. Love the franchise. The only FF that has really dissapointed me its FF13. It does seem like SE learned from their mistakes. Evertyhing I've seen about FFXV is great, minus a few nitpicks of mine. So I have no reason to not want to buy it.

I disliked the demos, so I will post-pond it this time

Day one purchase for me.

I didn't play the duscae demo, but as for the platinum demo, altho it wasn't the best at conveying how the final game would be, I did love the boss battle against the Iron Giant.

I'm in love with the combat. If you know how to do it, you can defeat it in under a minue with no damage taken. I love how quick you've got to be to dodge (and this is a slow iron giant, I suppose there'll be much faster enemies), how you don't have to stop attacking if you've got equiped the airstep sword to dodge as you can just do a backflip and doge with it if you do it at the right time and air maneuvering.

It definitely wasn't challenging (I mean, the Iron Giant is only level 15), but I do really find it satisfying.

I must say I don't find the use of magic very comfortable, but they still have time to fine tune it and I hope they do.

Also, I hope they have some modifier for the equiped weapons, like in FFXIV. As in, pressing L2 would bring in a 2nd set of weapons to equip, etc. I find having only 4 choices at a time a bit too restrained.

I don't get the point of this thread.

The title is why you won't buy it - but then you say that you will "wait out on buying it" - which sounds like you may get it if it is "recommended" for "newcomers".

Then you talk about how you don't care about textures of framedrops.

So you won't get it - but you might get it, and you don't care if it has issues? That is basically a "No, Maybe and yes" all in one post.

The poll seems a better use of a thread title - than the actual title.

The striked-through sentence basically explains.

I am confused as to whether I will in the future though.

Yeah, I agree. Honestly what was the point in making this thread? I mean if you werent going to buy it thats one thing -and if you were, thats another. But to basically say "I'm probably not going to maybe get this game I kinda like and not" kinda negates the entire thread itself. We're left with the same impression we came in with. Confused
