I don't have an Xbox One or PS4. Kill me please
I feel ashamed to admit, but I haven't played a final fantasy game since '07. I played "Dissidia: Final Fantasy" and fell in love with the game. Haven't played a game from the series since.
I'll probably wait out on buying it just to see if it'll be recommended or not for "newcomers" to the series.
A great thing for me is that I have little expectations for games. Playing on the DS/3DS and a 480p PC from '07-'15 has really made me appreciative of modern games- I could care less if Final Fantasy XV has some bad textures or framerate drops*
Anyways, the only thing that makes me hesitant is the new style of Final Fantasy- it has changed quite a bit since '07. It's a change that makes me wonder whether or not the games are still great. The game gives me a "xenoblade"-like vibe in terms of world and gameplay. I enjoyed Xenoblade, but the battle system wasn't exactly good...I don't think I'll be able to play another open world where the battle system isn't the best.
*Perhaps you may be quick to remember me criticizing the demo for having "horrible framerate" drops. Well, funny story; since I don't have a PS4 or Xbox One, I decided to go to a local game store and try the demo out. Turns out, their PS4 was messed up for some reason, making the quality of anything I played on it decrease dramatically. I still haven't managed to play the demo on a fully working PS4, and I hope I can.
