Forums - Nintendo - My take on Kimishima's words about NX

So I quote : "It’s something very new. The hardware, the software lineup, all of it is something I’d like to play for the first time myself."

Now that one statement is the one that I'm interested in since since as far as I understand it Nintendo will offer a new software lineup meaning that there's an high chance that we'll see new IPs, it's not the first time that we hear about Nintendo working on new IPs after the launch of Splatoon. of course he might just be talking about new idea/concepts for old brands but still there's the chance of there beeing some new IPs, also I'm interested to see the diversity of said lineup since we already know that various Wii U games will be ported, and that doesn't seem new Software at all to me...

How many new IPs do you think there will be?

I think it's a given that there will be new IP, but the question is how much

It's pretty clear by his words in this interview refer to software frequency of release rather than the games themselves.

I just hope the new IPs aren't 2D sidescrollers or party games. I've had my fill of them this gen.

One Metroid game that's all I'm asking for.

Hmmm, you are right that this is a very interesting quote from the recent interview. Again, to me it implies that the NX will offer some sort of completely different gameplay experience.

"All of it is something I’d like to play for the first time myself."

I don't think you'd say that if the NX was just a traditional console.

I'm just glad that he realized the importance of a steady stream of releases. More importantly, it seems like he is working toward fulfilling that realization. I hope it pans out properly.
