Forums - Sony - The PS4 is not powerful enough?

PS4 and XB1 hardware wise is stone age compared to 2016 technology. That's a fact.
When you have a Dev with an unlimited budget and all the time in the world to create a game. Of cousre its going to look great. Look at Crysis 3 on PC, a last gen game that looks better then most current FPS games. Thats the difference between having limits.

PS3 and Xbox 360 were Dozens of times weaker than Video Cards when GTA V came out, even so 35+ Millions of people purchased GTA V on those machines.

People don't care about graphics, people care about the Games, you think that Star Wars Battlefront or Final Fantasy XV isn't Graphical enought for this generation ?.

Uncharted 4 is already pushing the system to the limit though.... This isn't the end of the generation.

Naughty dog have already said they learned alot from makeing Uncharted 4, and that the next game they make could be better looking.

Its about being smart about useing the resources you have, and you learn little tricks here and there, when your makeing a game.

Maybe by the end of it, youve realised you could have done this or that better, but its too late to change stuff.

Next game will be just as good looking if not more so, imo.

The limit stays the same, what you can within that limit is what changes, as you learn smarter ways of going about doing things.

A powerful developer would have made the game run at 60fps.

Of course the PS4 isn't powerful enough. Nor XBO or Wii U or NX or Neo or anything. No console will ever be powerful enough for these guys because console devs always want to get into a dick-measuring contest with PC. A contest they can't win without cheating AKA making their games run at a sub-par framerate of 30fps.

EDIT: Let me just clarify - of course the PS4 is powerful enough, but I don't like that developers are placing unattainable expectations on it and making their game run objectively worse to cheat those expectations.

They're making it run subjectively worse, since not everyone cares more about higher than 30FPS than they do higher resolution textures.

I have been saying this since the console launched and people were trying to say it was too weak.

no, developers are not powerful enough.

I have a gaming pc, a good one so i know about power... but  Uncharted 4 is incredible. yeah 30 fps and some minimal things, but this game shows that more than a powerful hardware, a powerful developer is more important.

Exactly.  Uncharted 4 shows me thet the ps4 is the hardware to keep me going for another 5 years at least. And if you think uncharted 4 is the pinnacle of the ps4 you will be badly mistaken my friend.

I have been disappointed with my PS4 performance lately. Just Cause 3 was a bit jarring. Quite inconsistant in it's perfomance. I quit it, for other reasons, and started GTA V, expecting a gorgeous version of the game I played and loved on PS3. I was REALLY let down by the initial experience. It's to a point I'm getting paranoid that my PS4 isn't running properly. Somewhat off-topic, yes.

Framerate is not subjective. It doesn't matter what your feelings on framerate are. The game is running at a mathmatically inferior clip at 30fps than it would at 60fps.

The epitome of hyperbole!

The effect of it is. Dirt Rally runs at 60, I think, it feels smooth at least. It's hard to judge distances though or get a good sense of speed as the lighting is quite flat and the whole game has a very low res feel.
Yet I guess it's mathematically superior to DriveClub. However online seems to be pretty dead on ps4, was already before U4 came out. 60 fps is not a selling point, nor neccesary when your average speed is 55 mph. The only point of it in fps and tps is if you like to spin the camera around a lot.
