Nothing from sony, so not "official" official, but all credible insiders and publications have said its 100% real. No reason to doubt at this point.

So, until official statements i will believe that this are just rumors, atleast pretend that they doesn't exist, Upgradable consoles is the Dumbest idea ever.

This isn't an upgradable console, its an upgraded console ;)

If you hate the idea of it so much its better you start coming to terms with it now then waiting for the official reveal to hit you like a brick.

I don't need to come to terms with anything if I dont' want to. I'm the customer/consumer. I decide wheater I want to purchase something or not. I've been an avid supporter of Sony for a while. I've purchased many of their products because they have a decent quality control and are pretty well engineered (PS3 [three of them], Vita, Wti19, W810i, Z3 compact, Home Reciever, Speakers, A6000). The PS4 was sold to me under the assumption that I didn't have to upgrade for another 6-7 years. I understand the idea that when you like a product, you buy more; however, this is not the case for me. I'm okay with the PS4, but not overly happy with it that It warrants another purchase, let alone an 1.5 revision upgrade with better graphics. If I wanted that, I would upgrade my PC, most of the games now are on the PC anyways.

I don't understand why you people want to just hand your money over to businesses. They should have to fight for your purchase, it makes me wonder how many people don't understand the meaning of saving your money. That is usually what you do when you have an excess amount of it, it is good for you, believe me. Being debt free and very little bills not only feels empowering, but you can do things other than video games, like travel.

lol, whats happened here? I feel you 100% but I was just saying to Swordmasterman that "pretending it doesn't exist" is only going to make it harder to stomach come its actual announcement.

How would you feel if it was attachable component like the N64's DD attachment? I'm actually down with an upgradable system, just not one thats requires consumer to cough up a whole other $400. Since I haven't got a PS4 yet, I'm quite excited by the Neo but understand why others are annoyed.

What has happened is that I have come to loath current business practices. I see them as disengenous and not pro-consumer. Companies will pay millions on spin in order to justify their behaviour, and honesty is just too costly in this day in age for their brand name "their high level positions." I know some of you will come at me about how the tech industry is moving so fast, and companies like Sony don't know the future. This is all bs excuses to me now that I see a systemic strategy behind it--to keep you buying.

I was thinking of supporting Nintendo NX, but that company has a history of pulling crap like this too. I'm not upset at companies, but just the disengenous sale practices, and I am learning that as a consumer, I need to vote with my purchasing power too. Forking over money for things that I love is great, but not when business try to real you in to a pro-consumption mentality.

Not bashing your future purchase. You obviously did the right thing which was to wait for the better model/version.
