Forums - Sony - Uncharted 4 Level Of Detail (no spoilers)

Photo Mode gives us a closer look at the work done by Naughty Dog in the game and needless to say, we are surprised by the astonishing amount of detail that has been put into making the game.

Nate has a working Smartphone complete with UI

While this is just a tiny segment in the game, the way Naughty Dog has handled it is nothing short of amazing. When Nate texts his brother, we can actually see it all in action including the text that he sends. The screenshot is not from a cutscene, but from a closeup using Photo mode.

Nate and Sully’s Watch

These watches can mostly be seen in a cutscene closeup but using the Photo Mode, we can get a closeup in real-time and while these watches don’t work (we checked), they do appear to have details added to them despite being absent from player’s view.

Hair/Body reacts to Wind and Water

The hair not only reacts to the wind, it can also get wet. The wetness also applies to the body and clothes of the characters.

Jeep affected by the Environment

The damage it withstands can be clearly seen throughout their journey. This is yet another neat little attention to detail implemented by Naughty Dog.

There is a lot more in the game than what is included in this article, and Naughty Dog deserves all the praise for the work they put in Uncharted 4.

Is like 1999 again when Shenmue released.

So much eye candy

Sam.
I won't tell you who he is, even as it's not a spoiler as it's everywhere on the trailers, but if you still don't know him, better to discover playing the game.

Sorry, that won't be possible... just a post before you =p

Only on chapter 5/6 but between this and ratchet and clank I'm playing 2 of the best looking games in their respective genres ever (actually they are the best).

Sorry, but I still don't see it. Texture's look flat and bland, and while character models are good, that hardly makes a game's graphics great.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

I literally just started playing the game and we can not possible be looking at the same thing. I see nothing flat or bland so far. Or maybe I am just to early into the game. How far have you made it with the game?

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

The decal system is one of the best alright ...

I just wish the shadows were up to par like in Tom Clancy's The Division with HFTS but what are you going to do without conservative rasterization ?
