Lets not downplay this. the talent part I can understand. But that's because the human resources department does a great job of recruiting talent at ND. The budget? No. Any major publisher you can think of can marshall the kinda budget ND gets. EA, Activision, Take 2, Square Enix, Ubisoft, Bethesda...... they can all throw millions at a game if they wanted to. to OP. When I see games like these on consoles, it just makes me wonder why some still deem it necessary to invest thousands of dollars on PC gaming rigs. It's mind boggling what teams like ND can do with outdated hardware. Just mind boggling. |
Gaming rigs can do more than just video games and you don't have to pay thousands to make a decent gaming rig.

A Powerpoint presentation can have the most beautiful 8K pictures you have ever seen. It's still just a slideshow.

I think he's trying to say that there are beautiful looking games out there that struggle in terms of framerate. So they only look good but they play horribly which is actually still irrelevant to Uncharted 4.
Not sure, really.

Looks absolutely amazing, can't wait to try this on my new, huge-ass TV!
I can't wait either.

I know he believes 30fps is junk, but if he is seriously making a comparision of Uncharted 4, a very stable game, to a slide show... |
Yeah, I really can't fathom how someone would believe so.

My point is that pretending people who don't want to compromise and prefer both visuals and performance are for some reason stupid for spending money on it is offensive. Console players can pretend all they want that 30 fps is "enough" but maybe they should stop belittling people who enjoy performance to their visuals. It comes off pretty weird. Like someone at MC Donalds forced to decide between fries and a burger who laughs at the person who pays more to just get both.
Consoles will always have the price/performance edge while PCs offer the flexibility to get the best performance if you want to. But for some reason poor people some console players think choosing the most effective option makes them superior because they didn't spend more money, which is ludicrous.
I don't think people who play console only are stupid. There are plenty of good reasons to choose a console over PC. But then they go as far as pretending it's somehow the default superior choice, which isn't even remotely true. The default superior choice is having all gaming options.
#pcmasterrace is bad enough but console only players who shit on everything PC or mobile are not even a bit better.
Don't forget, it's not really PC players' fault that ND isn't using their great talent on PC. It's amazing what they do on console, but now imagine what they could do with actual power. It's really sad.
