Forums - Gaming - Why do people on this site still think E3 is important?

It's definitely losing relevance. I wouldn't say it's not important, but I truly think there are better ways of promotion than just drop all the bombs at the same event (E3). Streaming will be the new way to provide gamers information. And E3 will slowly lose its relevance. In my opinion, I'm not Nostradamus :P.

For me E3 is the most interesting out of those things, i love it for all the streams, where xbox, playstation, ea, ubisoft and so on showing off there (new) Games and all that stuff.

And Gamescomen is more like a Youtuberevent, im from Germany i could easily go there if i want, but all from a German Standpoint of view (at least for me), Gamescom is for all the Youtuber and their Fans to meet them and all that stuff. I have zero Interest in Gamescom, except if there are "Press-Conferences" like E3, thats what i care about and love each and single Year to watch all the streams 24/7 and get excited about new Game announcments. :D

hehehehe.....

don't you guys just love these Friday night threads?

2. The West Coast of the US, is where Silicon Valley is, where 'tiny' companies like Microsoft, Google, and Apple are from.   Remember it's an electronics expo, it's not just gaming.

Microsoft headquarters are in Redmond, Washington across the way from Nintendo of America headquarters .

I don't know how important it is, but it sure is exciting.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

E3 is definitely important. A lot of people tune in to watch it. Just look at E3 2013 for Sony. That alone basically guaranteed them a very successful gen with the PS4, which is exactly what happened. They humiliated Xbox and Microsoft.

Yeah and?  I wasn't saying Microsoft was from Silicon Valley, I was saying Microsoft Google and Apple are from the West Coast, so is Silicon Valley. (Washington is on the coast)

Just out of curiousity ....

How much does it cost to run say 1 hours worth of Ads on popular tv channels,
and get say.... 40m people to view it?

Like you could do with E3?

E3 is the largest annual event in gaming

is this reaction being triggered by nintendo's current predicament? i honestly can't think of any other reason someone would be compelled to make a thread like this

edit: "ther bigger gaming platforms like Apple iOS do not bother with E3 even though they are the top gaming platform at 21 billion in gross revenue, which is greater than Nintendo and Sony revenues combined."
