You can own both, there's not been a generation since gen 4 (only had the genesis) that I've not had at least two of the consoles for most of that generation. I would say right now that Sony has the most comprehensive library of the three consoles, but Nintendo still has Nintendo games and if you're a fan of them you'll keep getting those consoles. What does it really matter which console is your "primary"?

The fact that people consider themselves Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo fans proves that these gaming consoles are NOT just boxes of electronics, but communities of like minded individuals who are supporting there choice. As far as I know, people don't collect TV'S or toasters or microwaves to the extent that gaming consoles are collected.

Hey! They got SONY on my amiibo! Wait a minute. Two great gaming tastes that game great together!

I sometimes wonder who writes this kind of melodramatic, hand-wringing post about Nintendo. I think, maybe some young kid, teens or early college, who grew up with the GameCube and enjoyed Nintendo's big 3D offerings. Someone whose holy grail is Super Mario Galaxy. Cause I remember being 13, Nintendo switching to the N64 and losing all the RPGs and sweet 2D platformers, and I remember thinking that sucked and kind of losing interest. Today, at 29? Man, if Nintendo starts doing only mobile I'll give it a shot. If I don't like it I'll stop playing. If Nintendo gets into large-scale squash farming I'll try one out.

Then I read you saying you were FIFTY TWO. Holy crap guy, get a life.

I noticed you made a new account to post this. Are you afraid of some backlash because of your comments?

I'm 52 years old and I play videogames. It's a scientific fact that playing videogames improves your memory retention and hand eye coordination.

Saying I don't have a life has absolutely nothing to do with the topic we are discussing. If trolling people gives you satisfaction maybe you should get a life.

Just look at my avatar. It says everything about me at a glance. I'm a Nintendo refugee wandering around in the land of Sony. In this land there is Greatness. In my old land of Nintendo the greatness is gone.

Welcome to Greatness Shawn and know that you are not alone.

I'm a multiplat owner myself as well (Nintendo, Sony and PC) but this......dis right here is so cringeworthy, as cringeworthy as the "I'm a gamer" video - no offense to the OP though XD.

Sorry for cringing you out. No offense taken. I'm not familiar with the "I'm a gamer" video.

Nintendo is losing the last remnants of there fan base. Last generation there were 100 million Wii owners. In the span of ONE generation they are now down to 13 million. Nintendo needs to wake up fast.

Personally I feel betrayed by Nintendo since they released the Wii. The last Nintendo console I personally bought was the Gamecube. I played the Wii of course (because there was still great games on it) but it wasn't mine.

Do handheld owners count as part of the fanbase? I know 58 million isn't much compared to DS, but its still 58 million. It's like saying the Vita shows how many Sony fans are left. It's kinda ridiculous.

Well they each have their own games and personalities, but people who allow themselves to become worked up by this are just silly.

Really, these heated console debates have their roots in children, as most of us were stuck with just one at the time and had to defend our selection against those other options we'd never have. It was silly and petty but, hey, we were kids, that's what kids do.

That full grown adults still get that swept up in it is, to be frank, a little embarassing. It's possible to have preferences without holding hostile feelings towards the others, and it really shouldn't warrant these kind of melodramatic declarations.

This is news Because? 40 million have PS4's and it's growing.
