Sort of an unwise decision considering PS4Neo might be on its way.

Your post is hardly conducive to any sort of productive discussion I'm afraid.
By the way, might I propose a fourth option in the poll?:
SonyntendoAmiibo and Shawn are rendering a valuable service to the industry by putting pressure on Nintendo to win people back.
...I swear people sometimes forget these are just a couple pieces of cheap hardware to play video games on. You'd think we were renouncing our citizenship, jumping from Catholic to Protestant or vice versa, or defecting to another country lol
You can own both, there's not been a generation since gen 4 (only had the genesis) that I've not had at least two of the consoles for most of that generation. I would say right now that Sony has the most comprehensive library of the three consoles, but Nintendo still has Nintendo games and if you're a fan of them you'll keep getting those consoles. What does it really matter which console is your "primary"?
I'm a pretty loyal Nintendo fan. I also have a PS3 (broken), PS2, PS1, PSP, Vita (which I kind of regret), XBox 360, and a Dreamcast.
I'm a Nintendo fan. I like Nintendo. That doesn't mean I hate all things non-Nintendo. Just means that I enjoy the Nintendo stuff the most.
So...this leads to...? I started my gaming experience owning both the Genesis and the SNES at the same time (got it from my relatives as presents). There's no problem owning another console from another company. Whether you have a PS2, a Wii, an SNES, you're not going to have all the games available in the market because it's impossible. If you want Nintendo games, but their system, if you want Sony or Xbox, get their consoles. You shouldn't be close minded. I have a Wii U, Vita, and 3DS. Unfortunately I don't play Vita much because there's not much games that interested me in playing it (my sibling plays it more than I do). 3DS has a LOT of great games that I'm interested in. Same for Wii U. I'll eventually get a PS4 once the price goes down a bit because I'm on a budget (it should apply for everyone unless you're damn rich).

Im a pig, of course i eat 3DS carts!! Oink oink!!
I'm a sad mono-console owner. I barely live through my Wii U or 3DS. Sometimes I wish I could play more games from more systems. When I go outside and people ask me how many consoles I have, I feel nasty when I say one. Help me end this. You can support me through my funding at slarvy-needs-ur-money.org and together we can make me richer.
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.
