It's definitely not the typical Uncharted. Uncharted 2 was the epitome of cinematic action for gaming. The comments about this being more subdued and more story driven is definitely not an overstatement. They were in line with how I imagined it would be.

I haven't finished the game yet. I got to chapter 7 on hard. So far has been relatively tame. I don't want to binge the game so much to the point that I pull an all nighter. So I put the controller down and contiue the game tomorrow. All I can say so far is that holy shit the game is a nice blend of the strong points from TLOU and Uncharted series.

The melee is certainly my highlight here. God dammit I had so much fun doing it and it feels so rewarding. The gripes I had with Uncharted 1-3's melee was at times it felt cheesy as hell. The impact is lacking. Using the TLOU approach and refining it even better while maintaining the core mechanics of an Uncharted melee system, it just made the action mechanics in this game top notch.

If there will be a TLOU 2 or whatever, I look forward to how they refine this system more.

Regarding graphics, I think Naughty Dog just squeezed the life out of this generation. I don't even know how they can top this with the lackluster hardware this generation has. Discounting PS4k, I don't even think it'll give that much of a leap.

Naughty dog already said they could do better with there next game, the hardware is not lackluster just the lazy/bad developers. (or do you truly think uncharted 4 graphics and details are bad?)

I think Uncharted 4's graphics and level of polish is just unparalleled. Things certainly could have been a lot more prettier had this gen had more specs in them. I could notice some trade offs here and there but were brilliantly masked by the developers. Though having better specs would affect the price so it was trade off.

I just finished the collection and now downloading uncharted 4. 1st Uncharted is a good game but then the 2nd is so much better, I was so invested in the 2nd Uncharted that once i started it i just couldnt stop playing i ended up playing it until 7 in the morning. I feel bad for missing out on the series last gen. I was a loyal nintendo fan and only bought nintendo consoles until now. Lucky wii u failed and got me to buy a ps4. So far uncharted 2-3, ratchet and clank and infamous second son are my favourite games this gen.

4 > 3 > 2 > 1

Not placing 3 at the bottom of the list.

What's wrong with you, Roronaa.

He understands that 3, despite not being the same jump in quality that 2 was, is still the better game.

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Better game in what? In the fact that you can throw back grenades enemies sent you? Because that's the only thing I can think better of Uncharted 3 in comparison to its predecessors. Well, and the graphical fidelity, but I generally don't list graphics that high in the priority list.

The story is the best of the 3, the puzzles are the best of the 3, the HH combat is easily the best of the 3...

Don't get me wrong, 2 is an incredible game, but for the most part I found 3 to be an even better game.

The story is probably the worst part of Uncharted 3, being an incoherent affair at times, relying on too many plot devices and some plot holes on the way. The hand-to-hand combat is good, but the gunplay is, by far, subpar in comparison to U1 and U2 (which had already nailed it but they felt like changing it). And regarding puzzles, it has some good ones, but it also features some kindergarten ones (to be fair with U3, that's the case with the other games as well).

Uncharted 3 is a good game, but far from being the best one of the original trilogy.
