This was because of those 3 new Chips, that they will make ?.

3 REASONS:
-new consoles soon
-Polaris looks to be AMD's comeback in the GPU arena, async compute and great DX12 perf makes me not blind buy the next Nvidia card
-Zen cpu's will be awesome

No, You have profit takers. basically a combination of day traders that buy in on the rise and sell end of day and others that simply decide to cash in on such a large surge by selling out (some with the intention of rebuying on the next trading day post the usual drop after such a surge).

As more massive CPU/GPU combos come out ( above 32 CPU chips out there.) It will be exciting to see how things develop.

Short selling is something different, going short is predicting a drop in price, this is more equivalent to day trading, the stock has reached a good price so you sell the position while it's high to take a profit before any correction or drop happens.

Well, nice to see them getting a bit better, consumers need strong counter balance to Intel and nVidia.

That said, even though I've been using their GPUs since 2003 (nVidia before that), I'll wait and see how their latest offerings are doing...I'm fairly certain I'll switch to nVidia after so many years (haven't upgraded since 7970), but who knows.

Actually none of those. The main reason was a direct reaction to the fact that the quarterly loss was less than AMD predicted earlier.

AMD just scored a new deal just days ago, which is a joint agreement with a chinese company to build x86 processors for the Chinese market, China is one of the largest growth areas in computing on the planet.
It means AMD will get some IP licensing deals which means regular revenue.

That is why their share price jumped, not the consoles.

Plus AMD's future positioning is looking fairly good thanks to Zen, Polaris and Vega, hopefully they can claw back marketshare.
AMD is also looking at re-entering the server market competitively, which is big bucks, bigger than what consoles would bring in.

Wouldn't matter, watch the vid I posted. Over 90% of gamers play on AMD hardware and now AMD got around having to optimize drivers and instead gamedevs will be doing it. Briliant. Developing for nVidia will be seen as extra effort that's barely worth the costs, so more and more games won't be optimizes to fully take advantage of these cards.

AMD is really balling, good to see, as some time ago it seemed like they could go under.
