Platinum Games president Tatsuya Minami has stepped down, as reported byGamesBusiness.JP. Minami helped the creation of many Wii U titles while serving as Platinum’s president, including The Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2, and the soon-to-be-released Star Fox Zero. Minami started his career in game development with Capcom, before leaving the company in 2006. Kenichi Sato will replace him, serving as an executive director before this change.

It should be noted that Star Fox Zero hasn’t gone over well in reviews, with certain outlets like Polygon expressing that the game exhibits everything bad about Wii U game designand even refusing to review the title officially.

I hope Starfox Zero isnt the reason he stepped down.

Even if I dont think the starfox game was as good as it could have been, most of that is because of choices to use the gamepad motion controller and the double rendering of the game at 60fps.

Is this decision influenced by the results of the Wii U games? I think it would be too drastic, but it seems like it was a big bet this gen...

Maybe their next game won't be a sleeper. I just hope they maintain the same quality.
