Go back to that other post. I edited everything. Now it looks different.

Don't know what that means.

From a purely hypothetical perspective, you can't say that (pretty much) any of Sony's franchises could not be sold. Unlike Nintendo, most of Sony and Microsoft's developers are distinct buisness units that are seperate from SCE; this means that you can (effectively) sell each of these developers without having much of a negative impact on the structure of your company. Whether or not they would do this is largely questionable ... Unless Sony drops the price of the PS3 to $400, and SCE is forced by Sony to build operating capital to balance out the losses, I don't see much reason to sell any developers ATM. |
Selling the developer would mean nothing for the franchises because the IP's are owned by Sony. The same can be said about Nintendo/Kirby/HAL Laboratories or Microsoft/Halo/Bungie.
I never said that the devs couldn't be sold, just that there is something preventing them from being sold and that there would be no reason for them to do that. We've seen Nintendo sell RARE, but that was because they hadn't done anything worth a damn for years. You don't sell a developer that constantly delivers(Naughty Dog).
Hypothetically, any developer can be sold, but that's not in the context of the thread.
Consoles owned: Saturn, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, PSP, DS, PS3

What does it have to do? That's what will happen to Jak and Ratchet if they get sold off. That's it. I wanted all my posts to be nice and simple. I didn't want to repeat myself a million times. I only do so after your replies. You don't even know what I'm talking about. Insomniac and Naughty Dog could sell them off. We don't know. Stop saying they wont because maybe the will. I never said they will, because maybe they wont. Anything could happen. And nobody cares. Only you care. Notice that I only repeat myself after you make those stupid replies, assuming entirely different things. No, why are you talking about this? Let it go. It's only a prediction. It means nothing. I didn't want to have to repeat myself. It's you who kept repeating himself. Actually, I didn't edit anything out. I just re-worded everything. And go delete that post. |
How about you stop speculating on nothing, and stop repeating yourself. You can edit the post all you want but you made a thread based on the fact that you thought the next Rachet game, Tools of Destruction, might be bad because the franchises that Insomniac have done declined. It was only after I corrected you that you "changed everything." So I think my posts have been quite useful.
You also thought a Jak 4 game would be worse because each game declined (if only from 90% to 85%), and you then went on to warn us about Uncharted, a game everyone else in the world is impressed with.
Now, you pretty much have nothing left to say about it except "it might happen..." regarding this selling issue in which there is absolutely no evidence to suggest they will. Sony has no reason to sell those IPs off.
You could just admit you were wrong and move on, but you have to change the entire arguement and tell us we can't prove you wrong because now you are just speculating on something that MIGHT happen.
Hey, what will happen when Bungie sells the Halo franchise? I bet it wouldnt be as good because when they lost their Myth: The Fallen Lords franchise it went into a sharp decline (87% to 77%)! (completely ignoring the fact that Microsoft owns Halo even though Bungie develops it, in case you missed that comparison)

I never said that Tools of Destruction would be bad. You misunderstood me. In fact, I think it's going to be the best Ratchet and Clank ever. I only made a prediction thread of what could happen if Insomniac sold off the franchise again, which I do not think would happen. That was all. You took it way too seriously. I changed everything before, to eliminate false understandings of my thread. By the way, the Jak series went from about a 91% to about a 76% (Jak X Racing), therefore, I predict that Jak 4 could be lower than 85% (Jak 3), but then again, it could be higher. Most of my posts are based on opinions, or predictions. Please understand that. If Bungie sells the Halo franchise, it would probably decline to, since that is usually what happens most of the time.Â
