Forums - Sony - Anybody play the new Ratchet and Clank yet?

I'm about to finish 100%ing it, yeah. One of the best PS4 games so far, though I have a couple minor issues. I'll save that for my review though.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Wow that was fast.  Roughly how many hours did that take?

Insomniac claimed 11 hours to beat just the story, but I got every collectible (Minus some Hero Cards) in about 8-9. Your weapons level up insanely quickly in Challenge Mode, so even though I thought it'd take four playthroughs to fully max out I think I'll end up doing so right around 3 playthroughs.

I'm near the end of my first Challenge run, which took longer than it should have because I spent a while grinding to get the Trophy for having the 20x Bolt Multiplier. To 100% I'd say maybe 20-25 hours depending on the RNG for the Card drops.

I have already beaten it and am starting my new game plus.

The game is fantastic. You never stop gawking at how visually stunning the game is. While the 30 fps feels a bit sluggish for long-time fans of the series, you get used to it after about thirty minutes.

It's also laugh-out-loud funny. Some of the jokes are Portal-level funny. There are plenty of shout-outs, like the cheat that turns bolts into rupees or the fact that the Warmonger turned into the Peacemaker (Jak and Daxter reference).

I really only had two problems. The first is that there was a lack of a gladiator arena which was one of my favorite elements. The second was that the game felt the tiniest bit too... Uncharted-y. From the cinematic camera angles to the yellow-painted cliffs, there were times when I felt like I was playing Uncharted rather than Ratchet and Clank.

First time playing a ratchet game and I have to say it hooked me from the start. A very good looking game and the gameplay feels fresh for me.

The Warmonger was actually already a weapon from  previous games, as was the Peacemaker. That's less a Jak reference and more a War/Peace joke.

is it succesful? can we expect another ratchet? or a second reboot? sequel or whatever soon?

Not yet, but I'll definitely be playing it soon! Anyway, I'm very happy with its reception... hopefully it helps it selling well and encourages other devs to make more games like it.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

only thing i would like someone to confirm for me is whether the game runs at 60fps like previous games. played the demo, and really wasn't fond of the lesser fps.

Played for about an hour. It's like a greatest hits of features from past games. The upgrade system is like ACiT (raritanium in a grid) I'm just hoping the weapons have just 5 levels as that's the medium I like rather than tons of levels or too little. It also mixes in the platforming great like ACiT. Haven't gotten to many of the awesome features yes I'm sure but the writing could teach Disney a few lesson with clean yet hilarious humor and great in-jokes.
