Forums - Microsoft - Quantum Break Enjoys A Successful Launch Week In The UK As The #1 Game Across All Platforms

Quantum Break is a new IP but it has the most access to the largest possible audience applicable on PC and Consoles (linear action game fans). Dark Souls has its audience and Ratchet and Clank are both on my list. For some reason I dont feel that both games reach the largest amount of players in terms of playability. Dark Souls has a nice profitable audience and Ratchet and Clank is trying to reclaim the crowd that has already left it for COD. Gamers like me will be playing both Ratchet and Clank and Dark Souls. We like variety.

Both will outstell QB. I have no doubt.

Well it sold more than 17.5k.

The difference between QB and Dirt Rally was 139 units.

Dirt Rally sold considerably more than Showdown but less than Dirt 2 and 3.

Wait...Sold less than Dirt 3 on all platforms, or on it's best platform?

On all platfomrs.

MS can't ever get a break huh... Can't people just give a congrats to a successful start of a game these days?

Anyways, congrats to MS and QB. I hope this game ends up getting good sales.

This is the one exlusive on X1 that actually looks interesting to me. I hope it does well because I like Remedy I think they are a good company and make good quality games.

+1000

Even if you hate Microsoft, Remedy is a great developer, that make very personal games.

Dark Souls is on all 3 platforms and has a huge following.

Ratchet is also a bigger name than Quantum Break and is only $40. Both of those games could easily outsell QB. DS3 should easily do it.

Also, Jeebus. The downplay is real.

Dark Souls has its crowd, but based on the type of game that Quantum Break is and the crowd that financially is approachable this game could do very well on its own. Ratchet and Clank is looking to gain the attention of kids when the true crowd who will play this game for the wonder that it was are mostly adults now. When Ratchet and clank came out I was still in grade school. For me this will be a great experience and the young ones can enjoy chasing COD. I dont expect a huge reception for this game no different than the Gears of War or Uncharted remaster.

This is all fine and dandy, but you said there are no other heavy hitters this month, two more heavy hitters release tomorrow. Hell doesn't Star Fox come out this month too? Dark Souls, Ratchet, Star Fox, that's three other heavy hitters, all three well estalished franchises.

Why a comparison with another game is seen as a downplay?

Being number one doesnt tell the whole story, also we are at a videogame sales site.

Ive said in numerous times that Remedy is one of my favorite studios ever, and the main reason why i bought an Xbox One.

Im one of the few that still believes that exclusives do sell systems and are the main reason to purchase consoles.

You can like thé game, congrat the good dev Remedy and at thé same time say this wont sell well in your analysis ( which seem to be thé case , at least for UK ), selling less than The Order in Uk doesnt mean anything about the quality of the game, it's just à sales comparison, not à quality comparison.

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

In the UK at least it's sales are lukewarm at best. It's not a flop but it isn't a big success either. reviews are good so there's hope for legs. it looked like a big budget title and was in development a long time so hopefully it has them.
