Now using your brain = downplaying ? Thats sad for you.

Don't worry. Sony will have their day for one of their top new IP's to shine. Until then we will just wait with Quantum Break. Im enjoying it and im sure i'll like what Sony drops later.

Well deserved, I wish it will be the same in other markets.

Tim and The Princes...

I guess we'll see an end to The Order comparisons now ... Thank God.

It seems that every recent game has to be compared with The Order

From sales, to graphics, to linearity.

For a game that was mocked for being a flop, it sure has created some waves in the industry and the consumers.

Dark Souls 3? Ratchet and Clank?

Quantum Break is a new IP but it has the most access to the largest possible audience applicable on PC and Consoles (linear action game fans). Dark Souls has its audience and Ratchet and Clank are both on my list. For some reason I dont feel that both games reach the largest amount of players in terms of playability. Dark Souls has a nice profitable audience and Ratchet and Clank is trying to reclaim the crowd that has already left it for COD. Gamers like me will be playing both Ratchet and Clank and Dark Souls. We like variety.

Dark Souls is on all 3 platforms and has a huge following.

Ratchet is also a bigger name than Quantum Break and is only $40. Both of those games could easily outsell QB. DS3 should easily do it.

Also, Jeebus. The downplay is real.

Dark Souls has its crowd, but based on the type of game that Quantum Break is and the crowd that financially is approachable this game could do very well on its own. Ratchet and Clank is looking to gain the attention of kids when the true crowd who will play this game for the wonder that it was are mostly adults now. When Ratchet and clank came out I was still in grade school. For me this will be a great experience and the young ones can enjoy chasing COD. I dont expect a huge reception for this game no different than the Gears of War or Uncharted remaster.

Well it sold more than 17.5k.

The difference between QB and Dirt Rally was 139 units.

Dirt Rally sold considerably more than Showdown but less than Dirt 2 and 3.

Wait, so less than ROTR?  I don't really know what the criteria for success is.

Im taking this from Wikepedia:

Quantum Break was revealed with a teaser trailer during the Xbox One reveal event on 21 May 2013.[20] While developing the game, developers Remedy Entertainment consulted a scientist lecturer who had worked at CERN who taught them how to write the plot in such a way that it adhered to current theoretical physics.[15] The game was initially scheduled for release in 2014[21] but was subsequently delayed until 2015. It was further delayed to 2016 so as to make the final product more "polished" while not clashing with other Microsoft exclusives scheduled to be released in late 2015.[22] Remedy has created a brand new engine to power Quantum Break called the "Northlight Engine".[23] The game is set to be released on 5 April 2016.[24]

In February 2016, it was announced that Quantum Break would be released on PC exclusively for Windows 10 via Windows Store and would require DirectX 12.[25][26]

On 21 February 2016, Remedy confirmed that the game had been declared gold, indicating it was being prepared for duplication and release.[27]

This sure as hell sounds like a fucking expensive game. But not only that:

  • The game was shown in three E3's in a row with Microsoft giving the game a section of each conference.
  • Bundled the game with the console, and comboed with a 50$ price cut.
  • Got rid of the first main actor to go with a more Hollywood feel with a new more recongnized main character.
  • Implemented a never seen before live action series, which entire lengh is just like an entire movie.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I dont know about you guys, but barely selling a million copies doesnt sound too hot for such an expensive and hyped game.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

P.D. This is in no way, shape or form a downplay of the game per se, i finished it yesterday and loved every second of it. I hope it sells enough for a sequel to be guaranteed.

I think it will sell way more than 1 million at the end, mostly like 2 millions

Said that, being honest, the series is a nice addition to the game, but was shooted almost enterely indoor, or sets, with tv actors. Of course is added costs to the game, but if it was a real show, it would be a low budget show.

About the bundling, I don't think that MS produced many units. Here in Spain (Barcelona) I haven't seen a single one on stores.

Is an expensive game of course, but if it manages to sell like 2m, it will be OK for MS and Remedy.

Wait...Sold less than Dirt 3 on all platforms, or on it's best platform?

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
