Why is the R&C game removing that joke? Is it going too family friendly? Series has always had a nice amount of "harmless adult humour" and i don't think i've seen any in the game or movie so far; that i can remember at least.
The Plumber has just been a little easter egg. Don't see how you can assume that he isn't in the game just because he hasn't been in any trailers.

We already saw it in the remake, it's replaced with Ratchet just having a deja vu about having met him before ("remake joke")

Oh okay I get it. I think it might just be that they don't want to recycle the joke, so instead they added a different joke.
