my friend got the game on launch day and has logged over 300 hours on it.

just 300 hours? meh, try 120 days

I got double that with all my chars combined before I realized I had to stop.  I have been WoW sober for over a year and 3 months now.  I have had friends who have tried to tempt me back into the crack.

Hi, this is Vince with Shamwow.

I still play it, but i control myself. I only play after i'm done with all my classes and finish the homework. I never skimp out IRL because there is a raid going on, or skip family dinners because i'm in the middle of a boss fight.

It's really funny actually, anyone who doesn't play WoW, hates it. Anyone who used to play wow and now doesn't, hates it. Everyone thinks that everyone who plays WoW is addicted and plays hours upon hours each day, but the truth is that's not the case. i play wow very little and still manage to be in the top tier of raiding guilds world wide. WoW has not interfered with my social life or family life at all.

warcraft can be incredibly fun if you have a bunch of friends playing with you, you shouldn't just stop playing because you think you play too much. Just play in moderation and don't let it start effecting your life.

yeah but when did you start playing ph4nt

I quit back in August, it was fun, but took up way too much time.  Kind of glad though, my guild was on Kael at the time, and is just now getting to Illidan.  My server got screwed over when Blizzard changed the amount of time till you could transfer in, so our population was kind of meh post BC.

This was aired in Australia few years ago.

WoW...SUCKS ASS. It turns people into fat and smelly pieces of shit. Yes, it's true. You should've seen my 'friends' I had at my old University. They were obese and smelled horrible. This one guy smelled like a rotting cow's guts. This one girl was huge, like, whale-sized. Plus these kids spoke gibberish and was uber annoying. Plus they would stay up all the time during school and night hours just to play the game. There are only a few kids in the group who don't/didn't play it, like me.

WoW = CARTOON. Character models suck and look horrible and stupid. The game maybe colorful, but is totally not that appealing.

Final Fantasy XI = realistic looking with characters and graphics. Mind you, I played WoW and felt it totally boring, so I sold the game disc after I uninstalled it. FFXI is more addictive to me and has a lot more to do. It almost feels more akin to Fire Emblem at times, which I love. Plus they added a new feature to make it like Pokemon, where you capture monsters and battle them in arenas. Plus you can raise Chocobos.
