To have it listed on employee work profiles is probably a bit surprising at this stage though. Could indicate the system is in a fairly deep stage of development already. This would also explain why MS seems to have no interest in a XBox One 4K.

Already!? We know for instance that Nintendo is working on new console right after launch of last one.
Don't they normally start planning and developing for the next console after one gets released?

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]
The PS5 and the NX2 is also being worked on but that doesn't tell you a whole lot now does it ?
Not surprising, most companies start working on a new product after they launch one.

Too early for these talks. Gen is not even 2.5 yrs in...
PC I i7 3770K @4.5Ghz I 16GB 2400Mhz I GTX 980Ti FTW
Consoles I PS4 Pro I Xbox One S 2TB I Wii U I Xbox 360 S
Not surprised since they start to develop new consoles a year or two after the latest release.
Xbox infinite incoming.
R&D for the next console generally starts early into the current gen. This isn't really news.

Even though that's been debunked, all companies have stated before that the moment their system gets launched they'll immediately begin working on the next console as that's their circle of life. So we don't need articles stating what's already been going on.
The only difference in these artciles I can see worth mention is if this is something different that changes the cycle (ie. news about PS4K and not PS5 as we all know PS5 is in the works)
Every single hardware company starts thinking and preparing for the next generation the moment that a new one starts. All three of them do that, with no exception
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
