Awesome!

I'm so glad to hear that the ps4k will increase playstation sales so dramatically that amd expects to maintain all previous console business while planning even more revenue from the new revision. playstation might ship over 250 million with this news. nintendo is going to be screwed with NX since playstation will be almost 100M shipped by the time NX releases holiday 2017.

They design good chips but they are a very shitty part supplier ...

AMD has 2 separate statements in that announcement.

First piece is new semi-custom business (NX even if coming out next year, will still start production this year, or possibily PS4k which I dont think is happening)

Second Piece: Units going up from 2015-2016 (more sold) Ramping new designs? How about die size for PS4Xbx1 slim models? (I still think the 4K PS4 will just be able to output streaming at 4K and do 4K bluerays, wont actually do games at 4K unless it upscales)

A few reasons. The main reason the original Xbox was around for four years was because Nvidia screwed MS on the contract. They were locked into a set price for the GPU. So while the cost of the PS2 and Gamecube decreased dramatically over time the Xbox remained expensive to manufacture. This contributed to MS losing so much money on the Xbox.

While the contract situation was better for Sony on the PS3, the GPU they delivered was inferior to Xbox 360's. The Cell was often used to compensate for the GPU. 

Nvidia says they don't have interest in the low profit margins of the console market. I'm not sure if that's PR spin for AMD owning the console market or fact. While the console business does have low profit margins, it's a steady source of income over 4+ year period for a single chip design.

What can be stated is that AMD has been easier to work with. Nintendo has worked with since the Gamecube*. MS started working with on the 360. Sony followed suit with PS4. They provided cost effective solutions and client friendly contacts.

*ArtX designed the Gamecube GPU. They were subsequently acquired by ATI prior to the launch of their Radeon graphics card line. AMD later acquired ATI.

They could always ask Intel instead... They can produce powerful GPU designs (Larrabee is living proof of that) but nobody seems to be interested in them...

No it isn't, Intel not releasing Larrabee and selling Havok to Microsoft is proof of that ...

This don't refer to Nothing, is just a Statement of Something that they cannot announce, the only thing that we know that is coming is Nintendo NX, if they want to release it this year, they will need to start production soon, even if will release next year, they still need to make a Stock, PS4K, is just a Rumor, and Xbox Upgradable, is a Confusing spinning from Microsoft, they stated that they were doing a Xbox Upgradable, for 2-3 weeks after that, make another Statement saying that they are not doing.
