Forums - Gaming Discussion - New trademark for Beyond Good and Evil filed by Ubisoft

(Originally from NeoGAF) After rumors that surfaced earlier this year suggested that Beyond Good and Evil 2 could be an NX exclusive, Ubisoft has now filed a new trademark for the series. The filing includes Class 9 (game software), Class 41 (online component to game software), Class 16 (paper products), Class 25 (clothing) and Class 28 (games and playthings).

IT'S HAPPENING.

JK doesn't mean much. Still, exciting times are coming. Still. Interesting to see that the tm isn't for a BG&E2.
And how there's no subtile like the rumored leak.
Interesting.

So not NX exclusive?

Can't know for sure, we'll have to wait for E3 to see what happens =P

Aren't they supposed to specify what platforms its going to be on when a trademark is made?

Please, please, please make it happen, Mssr. Ancel.

Desperately trying not to lose an IP.

Can't wait to play Beyond Good & Evil 2 on my PS4. Reveal will probably be at E3.

He didn't leave Ubisoft. He just founded a new independent studio to make WiLD. But simultaneously he's still working at Ubisoft.

*Checks and looks if it's still April 1st, it's not...pheew*

Maybe there is some validity to the rumor. Doubt it'll be NX exclusive though. If it is, it'll be timed. Not that the series is huge or anything, it's just that most 3rd parties want to get their game on as many platforms as possible so unless Nintendo is paying them like kings for full exclusivity, it will most likely be timed and later released on PS4/4.5 and Xbone.

Interesting. Not sure if it'll mean much in the long run, and I'm still wondering if this game could potentially end up Nintendo exclusive.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
