I just can't believe how cool everyone is with this, it's like you'd all love Homeland security to plant video cameras in your house. Maybe make a few more lists.

No. It's not like that at all. It's a video game rewards system. It's not that big of a deal.

Apperantly everyone here doesn't know what Microsoft is actually doing. How do you think they know your cheating? They are going into my system your system every single persons system while your online and checking your game save data to see if the original profile account information saved in the data matches your current gamerprofile. and if it doesn't they brand you a cheater since that gamer save achievements are contributing to more then one profile.

It's the equivilant of the government with no warrent accessing you pc while your online.

Some of you guys have poor reading comprehension, or just don't like to read long posts.

Fooflexible, I totally see where you are coming from. I absolutely hate the idea of the gamerscore. I've gotten stuck in 2 games on the PS3, and I downloaded a savegame just to save myself from a headache. Enjoyed the rest of the games after skipping past the level I was stuck on. I would hate to be branded a cheater online for those actions, especially if I were paying for XBox Live (which is one reason I sold my XBox360, got tired of paying for every little thing).

^i was using an open "you" and you cant play "honestly" on and off line using someone else's save

Why can't I play honestly online with someone elses save? Again your giving this matter the same false impression others will when when they see peoples name on the list. That I'm some how cheating online. Even if I download a halo 3 save, it won't affect my gameplay online. It won't affect my rank my medals, or how I can play.

You know honestly this is fine to agree to disagree you all seem to agree that it's okay for a company to embarass a paying customer. Just keep in mind one thing. The more we stamp out cheating, and the more casual the gaming population gets, the easier games will get. Developers have to compensate people who get stuck in the game, and since they aren't allowed to cheat, the only other option is to make games eaiser to beat. And games have been getting easier, and if you don't think cheating should be allowed stop complaining about games not being challenging, because cheating was one of the few games developers could appease the all happy to buy and all to crappy to play  gamers.

Just one last question all you guys are totally anti cheating? You never just popped in infinite money in Sims, just to have wanton fun? Or God mode just to have a care free blast feast after a tough day of work? Sometimes it's not just a cheap way to beat a game, someitmes it's just fun.

^but its still cheating--color it anyway you lke you still cheated.....

Thank you! Finally someone. Well the bottom line is despite whats being said here, there is nothing wrong with us for buying a game, playing without cheating online and occassionaly using a gamesave to bypass stuff. And what I mean is we are not hurting anyone elses experience and Microsoft should be grateful for our business, but since they are not I will most definitly take my business elsewhere.

Another thing people are forgeting, is because of Microsoft attiutude toward polcing the gaming public we are missing out on cool features, like mods, and an internet browser.

^wii would like to play

I hope the annoying list is next. the blogging point was simple, what I do offline shouldn't be policed and told to the world, it's giving the online community the idea that I cheat online, and I should be watched out for, and thats not true, I don't and can't cheat online. I honestly admit anything I do, but the idea that the company that i've given so much money over the years is going to publish me on  some list for some type of embarssement is silly. It's basically saying since you've been such a good customer, we're going to publicly humiliate you. It's also silly because wiping out my gamerscore eliminates any reason for keeping that account, I could just open a new one. Secondly I can assure you people who didn't cheat will be published on that list.

And maybe I would get over it, if someone would just see my point of view instead of treating my like a jerk. Seriously I deserve all that they give me and more? I spent 60 bucks on the game 60 bucks a year for online, 400 bucks on the system, a 100 bucks on the wireless device, and since a skipped a level I deserve public humiliation and more? Do you think Microsoft should ban me? For paying money to them and playing honestly online and offline(just occasionaly with someone elses save).

The bottom line is this: This can only hurt Microsoft. It will piss off people who are on the list, and even those of you who love the idea I don't believe will runout and buy more stuff with Microsoft on it as a reward for their policing effort.

Oh I agree with you, though you REALLY have to work with your analogies...
I for one used someone elses save file when my 2 friends first brought over their GH3's at my house.
We just wanted to hangout and play some cool songs like "Through the fire and flames" to hell if we have to spend hours and hours just to unlock the good songs.
I would probably do the same thing If I went over their house with SSBB, I don't want to have to unlock every character again just to fully enjoy what multiplayer has to offer at my friends house.

It's good that they are policing the Gamerscores, but it's a very flawed system to begin with, and people like fooflexible who meant no harm and just wanted to play the game will be wrongfully punished.

OT: I would rather use my PC for an internet browser. I had a browser on my PSP, my Wii and my PS3. I have one on my cell phone too...I can probably count on one hand how many times I've used the combination of them all.

The mods I could maybe give you but if the trade off is sacrificing the ease of use and cohesive nature of XBL vs the cluster**** of the other console online services I'll take Microsoft's offerings anyday.
