Whats this about?

This goes beyond a GAF rumor (PS4.5), almost all the biggest portals have reported this and Sony has been shush about all this which pisses me the hell off.

As much i want to believe that this rumor is not true, their silence is just too suspicious.

Its their fault that this got leaked, they should talk about it right away and open pre-orders or something because it is affecting the "regular" PS4 sales.

sad to see the beta having little effect on Doom preorders, the game is fantastic.

I've just played a handfull of games this morning in the beta and so far I'm not all that impressed and I feel its decent but not as good as I was expecting it to be and a lot of my friends who were all massive Quake 3 fans like myself seem to feel the same so maybe there's quite abit of disappointment around it currently.

Yeah those rumors of the PS4.5 or 4k, might be influenceing things but only a tiny bit.

The PS4 seems to be selling okay.

Sony won't say anything because clearly there's some truth to it. They wouldn't want to slow PS4 sales down OR give their rivals any indication of what they're likely to be competing against. Developers will have signed NDAs so it's not 'Sony's fault', it's all on the developers. I believe it is having some affect on sales BUT it can only have a negative affect if it's not true. Anyone who is putting off buying a PS4 now will buy a PS4K later anyway. The most damaging leak and one Sony could have no controller over whatsoever is the NX rumours and talk of it being stronger than the PS4. This HAS to come out this year though or momentum could be permanently slowed and may never recover.

I would say genius move but then again it was stupid to ever have them release so close together. 

I guarantee you a big percentage of ratchet buyers between the release of it and uncharteds release will also get uncharted 4. Not everybody is made of money or has a ton of free time so buying 2 games isn't an option.  

I'm just glad it worked out like this because it would annoy me having to play both at the same time instead of focusing on each on their own. 

I think the multiplayer is definately showing a marmite effect, there are lots of people who think the doom beta is just too slow and not particularly fast paced/hetic... But most people are going "Well lets hope Single Player is good" because in my case, multiplayer I am not that fussed about, but it would have been better had it been interesting to play :)
