Does Barcode Battler count as a game? I loved that thing, its to blame for both my love of RPGs and the regrettable destruction of any packaging I could find (including game boxes) in order to get their precious barcodes.
On consoles I'd have to say I enjoyed Plok (SNES) a whole lot and as somebody above has said Gargoyles Quest 2 for NES, I spent many childhood hours dying on my way to completing that game and wondering just what maelstroms were and why Firebrand needed their power.
I have fond memories of Blinky's Scary School (C64) and several Dizzy the Egg games (also C64) but I wonder just how badly they hold up today.
