Well the 80gb PS3 has never been sold here in Japan. For the longest time it was just the 60gb/20gb models. Last November, the 40gb was introduced and just recently (January or February) Sony discontinued the 60/20gb models, so now only the 40gb is left.

OT: I'm curious as to how many bundled units they made too. They should be able to produce more since like somebody else said, it's not out until June...Unless they are doing a limited run or something like 30K, or 50K, etc. 

We knew this game would sell alot, we can call this a true success though when we see this momentum spill over to lower key games.

well thats a possible holy crap moment i wonder tho if its just like Crisis Core with that whole 77,777 thing if it isn't then thats great.

Well unless they are releasing 100k plus of these bundles i'm not very suprised, the franchise has an incredibly loyal following and the Japanese jump on new hardware colours as if they are the next-gen machine.

Is there any PS3+game bundle which didn't sell out in Japan? As far as I've seen they usually make those in very small quantities, meaning that a handful of a game's hardcore fans are enough to gobble them up.

Well I've seen the Yakuza bundle available in some stores still. That was limited to 10K and was the new Silver colored PS3... I don't remember if the DMC4 bundle was readily available or not after it was released.

Expect a 100k week for PS3 in Japan with the launch of MGS 4.
