I've enjoyed the first 2 years of this gen more than the first 2 of last gen. Hopefully it lasts another 5 years without a successor so it can really hit a high point like last gen did.

Disappointing gen for me, I know it's good for others though. Hopefully next gen isn't far off and actually brings more to the plate.

True, but from gen 3 and up, gen 5 is by far the one I have the least games from. There are some great ones that still hold up like Mario 64, Zelda, Crash Bandicoot, SOTN, Banjo-Kazooie, Conker etc...but far less than any other of the gens Ive been through. Silent Hill and Resident Evil on the PS1 are pretty much unplayable for me now.

For people who constantly complain about the present and pine for the "good old days" when every third game was a platformer? Sure.

Personally, I love that gaming has evolved over time into something more dynamic. I wouldn't go back to the NES/SNES eras if you paid me. Games were generally static and depended purely on memorizing patterns. Once you did that, it was over and you realized just little content you'd been given.

Worst ever? Nope. But it's been pretty meh imo. As a Nintendo-only console gamer, I expected more from the Wii U, but I guess it just felt too similar to the Wii. Here's hope that the NX delivers on everything that the Wii U didn't.

Edit: Bayonetta and Splatoon are wonderful 101 games though.

Won't be remembered as the worst by me. This gen is cutting more into my movie hobby than ever, or maybe movies suck more nowadays.

I can't really think of a worst gen, loved them all. DirectX birthing pains and gaming on win 95 come to mind as the worst, yet that time also had the most innovative games.

I've played lots of gems already this gen, at the top Lego city undercover, Super Mario maker, Transistor, DriveClub, Alien isolation, Elite Dangerous. I have a big back log of gen 8 games already, sorry gen 7 back log :/ If anything it's too hard to keep up this gen.

Last gen was the worst, it was 8 years so. MGS4 and the last of us were seperated 5 years from their releases which is an entire generation and look at the results of both games graphiclay.

At least with this gen we will get a more powerfull ps4 which means another 4 years would be excaptable. VR and the NX also will bring more variety. I love bloodborne and all the japanese games who are localized now, no this is far better allready than last gen.
