I just can't wait for Dark Souls 3 even if they made it significantly easier by borrowing from Bloodborne.

I hate that you're now able to dodge enemies so easily by just jumping back or running away from them.

Why couldn't they keep Dark Souls Dark Souls and have Bloodporne as the past paced game?

It is not that easy in DSIII Yukaslegion one of the more famous Souls players is not having an easy time with the game.  He is playing it right now if you want to have an idea: https://www.twitch.tv/yukaslegion2.   So far it feels more Dark Souls than bloodborne based on what I watched.

Awesome!

Being famous doesn't equal being skilled or wanting a really hard challenge, but I'll check out his channel, thanks.

Well as a fan I would consider him skilled but yeah his life is now about the souls game and also plays a lot of pvp.

So right now they don't tell anything in this article about the performance on PS4 other than resolution, yet OP states that performance is better on PS4. But yes, no objection to change it.

But nice of you to remind others that the OP makes assumptions not to be found in the article, so they don't have to read the article.

I appreciate both of these posts! Thanks to the both of you! No "other" stuff just things straight from the article. Oh OP you sly guy you were given inaccurate information!

I think the OP may be referencing this article http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2015-hands-on-with-dark-souls-3, for which there is a link embedded within the current article.

"As for performance, obviously it's early days right now, but the direction From Software is taking is clear: PS4's frame-rate holds mostly strong at 30fps..."

There are complaints however, of some of the frame stuttering of Bloodborne though.

So while the OP may be inferring quite a bit here, it's not like the information is not available through the posted article.

I got my ps3 and 4...demons souls, dark souls, bloodborne...do i really vare about a xone?

Okay, I watched one of his old stream for half an hour now.

Dam these guys know how to design games!

Visually, and I'm not meaning the graphics technically, it's so fantastic, so majestic and exciting and atmospheric. Just like all the other Souls games.

You can see it takes a little bit from Bloodborne with a more gothic 17-18th century style in many places, but it doesn't bother me yet. The environments are amazing. Nobody else comes even close.

About the faster combat, actually it didn't look as worrying as it has in other videos. So I think you are right. He wasn't moving as fast as I thought he'd be, or he just didn't utilize backstep enough, I'm not sure. He wasn't stomping all enemies either, he keeps dying regularily. I still believe it will be the easiest Souls game, but it could have been much worse.

I must say though that it's a pity that they decided to make Dark Souls 3 more past paced. You see, light armored players were already favored in the past, nearly all pro players go light and agile, so the new game didn't need a skew in the light direction. No, it was the other way around - if they felt they had to change it would have been so cool if they had made heavy armor relatively stronger and thus added more strategical depth/choice into both PvE and PvP and also created more difference to Bloodborne.

The pure graphical aspect I don't have much to say about. I think all Souls games look beyond amazing, especially Dark Souls 2 with the enhanced version already looked far better than I would ask for. So Dark Souls 3 is just heavenly, no matter the platform.

Damn From. How can there be such a perfect developer? I am so thankful that these games exist.

What's your history with Souls games? And how do you compare them to other games, your general thoughts about difficulty etc.

Oh fuk. You are right! I totally didn't see it. I imagine I write almost perfectly, but the "past" paced is there several times. Thanks for bringing it up!

Well yeah he dies a lot also mentioned during the stream today that the game is harder but I feel like it is pretty common to die a lot during your first hours in a new souls game =p.  Atleast I did.

I enjoy his streams because I prefer PVP players above speedrunners or soul level 1 players.  One of my favourite moments where he beat a hacker (unlimited health) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-FX-XTfBBg

So far everything I saw looks promising.

I don't consider myself a big souls fan but my favourite stays dark souls 1. Great gameplay a nice world that kept impressing me and I enjoyed PVP and especialy joining other people's world to beat the end boss over and over =p.  Not sure if I get DSIII soon I am a bit burned out. Want to get it while I sure want it.

While the op got that out of the article. I read all of it.

"Even so, the Xbox One release still looks impressive with its post AA in place, and we've had a great time playing Dark Souls 3's initial areas. The upscale from 900p doesn't dampen the experience to any tangible degree"

"We'll be back with a full breakdown of both console platforms soon. For now though, it's surprising to see how well the Bloodborne engine fares on Xbox One, after a year-long stretch of exclusivity to Sony's format"

This OP is really suspicious.

Where do they say Ps4 has better performance??? I havent seen that in the article.

Where do the op mention that DF is actually impressed of how the engine is working on XBO? Looks like he is not interested on that.

And the Bloodborne engine worked below 30fps again and again on Ps4 too, so... is not like this makes a big difference until we see both version face to face.
