Is it likely the digital ratio is slightly higher meaning the gap is a little smaller?

We don't know the digital ratio so it is irrelevant at this point. Until we have definitive digital numbers, they're no sense in bringing them up.

Well it stopped being awesome to me after the 3rd gen.

Gen 1 had everything, equally amazing tv show, video games and trading cards. The games might still be ok(tho the new designs look awful imo), who watches the tv show? Ash should've grown up with the rest of us, kinda like Toy Story.

Can't really disagree with that.

The games are still good though

I think Ash is awesome these past couple of seasons for XY and XY&Z. Though I do wonder if the anime writers and directors will let Pokemon to remain like the Simpsons or eventually end Ash's story...?
