Forums - Microsoft - Alan Wake is (arguably) better on X1.

I'm just going to fire it up in an hour.
Better off worse, I already own the game and my xb1 can play it.

Cool beans.

Give us an update on the playability.

Played it late last night.

There were some areas that were a little too dark for me to see what I was doing.  It didn't seem to bad but then it kinda became a hindrance.  I adjusted the brightness to higher than recommended and found a pretty good balance.

I don't know if it was in the original game but there were parts where certain polygons just randomly appeared and disappeared. It didn't really effect my enjoyment but it was certainly there.  I may fire up the 360 just to see how it plays in its original form. It's been years.

As a whole, the game still looks great and manages to wow, though.

Playing it now, I was kinda surprised by the lack of polish. Between the PS Vita resolution, blurry textures, and odd looking chracter models this didn't age particularly well.

Pretty easy to overlook that though simply because its a great game. Would like to see this get the remaster treatment though if they ever plan on making a sequel.

I didn't want to say X1 BC is definitively the best way to play the 360 version.

But... I would certainly recommend it on X1 over 360. Those frame dips and screen tear impacts gameplay more than adjusting brightness.
