Always been a fan of these games, I know there not going to blow you away or even ever be massively popular but they're just pleasant games to play. I do think the battle
System could be doing with a bit more attention though, I'd like a system like tales or star ocean.

Never played an Atelier game before. Always thought the art and music were really good though. Would this game be a good place to start ? Heard it doesn't have the time limit which makes me want to give it a shot.

They really beefed up the battle systems (still turn-based) for Escha & Shallie. I believe this one is back to basics.
