Forums - Nintendo - "Alleged" photo of NX controller "leaked": We might as well discuss this now

Wii U sales: 13 million.

PS4 sales: 40 million (With a year less on the market)

I rest my case.

I think that the mobile market will strengthen the Nintendo brand massively, that market could attract the "casual" crowd to the console. Also, if they manage to get a good third party support, along with a new concept (let's think it's a home console + handheld device) and the strong first party Nintendo lineup could attract also gamers who haven't make a choice about their console yet. With that saying, I don't really believe it could sell better than the PS4, but it could manage to get +70M easily.

This is the classic post that I will resurrect in time to remember how right/wrong I was :P

"Yes to laugh, but we doubt that this is the new Nintendo (despite the end of black sellotape to hide the brand or other)"

The "leaker" just said this.

Kind of weird that the Indriss2Dev would post that even though the leaker believes that it isn't the NX controller.

I think you vastly underestimate Nintendo's selling power. PS4 doesn not have this generation locked down. It just hasn't had any competition. The last part of that statement is completely false.

Unless this controller isn't fake.

You don't. The Wii U failed because it is a bad mass market product, not because it is a Nintendo product. The NX will be a good product, so it will sell well. It'll be console redefining, so it'll sell very well.

Unless this constroller isn't fake.

Haptic touch feedback new tech. My first phone had it. It does not even remotely simulate the feeling of pressing a button. The reason buttons work is because you have a spacial awareness for where they are. Vibration, which is all haptic feedback does, can not simulate that. I can't feel around a haptic screen without looking down and know purely from my sense of touch which button I am touching, or where on the button I am touching. You can't simular complex button maneuvers like quickly sliding from one button to another to execute the first button quickly and the second held on, something that is basic in platforming games like Mario and Smash Bros.

The analogs don't look like they move at all, and this would be absolutely terrible for fighting games. A nub would be terrible for any game that requires precise movement. Even the PSP has more give than what this seems to have.

There is no reason that the haptic feedback cannot be more intensive than it's phones counterpart. Remember that the XBO triggers are actually considered haptic feedback. Also zoom into the controller. You can see a very subtle gap there.

I'm not saying that this isn't fake. It just makes a lot of sense for a handheld controller. Easily a day one purchess for me.

After reading that whole thread earlier that dude was confusing me so much. Something just feels off about the whole thing.

Am I the only one who would be happy if Nintendo made an improved and slick version of the Wii U pro controller?

for every time I use the gamepad, I probably use the pro controller 99 times. It's actually a pretty good controller.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Better be fake

Most likely a fake. If not, that's a ugly looking controller. I mean, how are you supposed to game on that thing? It looks like a longer PS Vita with no buttons and two massive joysticks that are placed really weirdly.

You do know that last gen when Wii was at 40 mill.. PS3 was at 18 mill right.. nothing is set in stone..

And also this

3DS: 58,8 mill.

Vita: 13,6 mill.

Dont know if you just like to talk..  but I have seen all generations.. and if theire is one thing that is a fact.. is that most people buy consoles like other electronic producs.. and only a litle handful of gamers read and talk videogames like we do..

When "normal" people buy a console (or theire parents do) mostly they have seen some in tv or media.. They look at whats infront of them.. what it offer/games.. and whats the price is.. (like most people dont have special preference when they get a new phone.. dvd recorder.. or a dish washer)

If you still think Sony have all future videogaming safely in a lock.. ok.. be happy.. (rest my case)

The haptics feedback on the XBO aren't meant to function as buttons independant of the triggers, so bringing them up means nothing. They'd can shake harder than someone having a sesure and they will still NEVER be able to replace a button functionally.

There is no gap.
