Forums - Nintendo - "Alleged" photo of NX controller "leaked": We might as well discuss this now

Please explain to me how moving the analog sticks works when they are physically fused to the controller, and please tell me how this thing will handle literally any action game with complex button presses, and I'll concede that this is going to be "amazing."

Because all I see is no fighting games, no hack-n-slash games, no platformers, no Smash, no Pokken, no hope. None of that stuff is going to work without buttons.

That's my issue with this. It'll be extremely hard to use with any traditional game. Which will make the third party support non-existent. Again. But I think this is fake. Some random person saw the patent and build a rude design based on it. After a lot of thinking, I think it'll be a really big mistake, and I can't see this working at all.

Besides, just because Nintendo makes a patent doesn't mean that they will actually use it like that.

Yep. I think that the idea is cool, but the only way it could work is having proper buttons, not haptic buttons. I mean, imagine playing Smash with that controller. I don't think they're crazy enough to do this.

I agree.

Wright, Wright, Wright...

Everyone is going to miss the full picture here, because there are sticks on the screen.

Depends how you want to look at it. Whenever a game that used both the TV screen and the gamepad on WiiU forced the player to look at the gamepad's screen you were missing the full picture too, but that didn't prevent the player from having fun, did it?

Same case scenario here, just now with sticks on the screen!

This shit ends up real. I'm done with Nintendo.

Probs fake doh.

EW! All we really need is a more compact, cheaper gamepad with analog triggers and better battery life. Either that or just a pro controller with a free-form screen, accelerometer, gyroscope and geomagnetic sensors (for motion controls) and analog triggers.

so i just got back from seeing 10 Clover Lane please tell me it was debunk since i was gone.

Some people are missing the full picture here. If the image is indeed real, you don't have to worry about third-party support. Nintendo will probably have tons of first-party games ready to work with this new and exciting controller.

Ew.

Hopefully this is fake. That controller looks horrendous and seems like an obstacle to work with for traditional games.

Why would someone replace conventional buttons for a screen (touchscreen or not). This controller seems less about "hey, this will make games more enjoyable," and more about "hey, look at how weird this controller is, we are unique!"

The only really appealing feature is the haptic feedback

Really hoping this is fake or I'm definitely skipping out on the NX

No, it wasn't. The good thing about this is that if this controller is legit, the amount of backlash might make them reconsider it xDDDDD.
