Fuck the EURO price isn't any better than AUS.

Will be interesting to see how many people willing to pay that price after the die hard fans cool off.

Australian price is less than $415 USD. We are basically paying what the US are and not being completely ripped off like we're used too.

yer but for me an addon shouldn't cost more than the console and I think for most people they would thing the same way,

Cant compare the Oculus selling out with the PSVR.

Sony can push and produce WAY more hardware than Oculus can dream of.

If these things are selling out, it is because the sales are that good.

i haven't even pre ordered mine yet!

good news

You do know Oculus is owned by a multi billion dollor company now right?, im pretty sure they would have no problem "Pumping" out hardware..

Also going by the sales numbers that stores have been getting in it seems like the Release of the PSVR has been "Very" limited so who knows how many the total units shipped are.

I wonder if Sony could be trying a Wii like effect, by keeping the system pretty much selling on pre orders for a year by keeping stock limited.

Sony is a Hardware company, Facebook is not. It is all about logistics, not money.

There are plenty of months for Sony to rearrange their strategies before the PSVR launches, naturally they have to test the waters first to see people reaction towards this new device, which i think it is pretty smart.

The device is sold out worldwide, it remains to be seen how the US reacts.

Mighty Ape in NZ probably only ordered 3 PSVRs for their first shipment.

But seriously, I bet most online retailers placed very modest first shipment orders because who wants to take a risk on having a whole lot of VR stock sitting around waiting to be sold. Still, being sold out with low first shipment orders is a helluva lot better than not being sold out with low first shipment orders.

This is also a reflection of coming in at a substantially lower price. When people have been sensitised to a high price, the surprise at a much lower price stimulates buying behaviour, even if the decision is reversed later.

If I am not mistaken most if not all online retail preorders require zero money down. I know Amazon and GameStop are like that for sure. Nothing stops anyone from preordering especially scalpers.

Nothing really to brag about or see here.

its owned by Facebook who has zero knowledge in hardware hence why they couldnt produce a VR headset under 600$

this is true for any Hardware if  its a new Iphone or the PS4 during its launch in 2013, No one dissmised the sucess of these examples when they were sold out in Amazon and co.

Fact is: a preorder for a 400€ peripheral has sold out in Europe
