I don't see a reason why it wouldn't support 3D BR, even the phone cinema VR apps support 3D video.

3D blu-ray wasn't supported at launch but I see it was patched in with 1.75
I have a grand total of 2 3D blu-rays, never got around to buying a 3D tv. Might be fun checking it out.

I have about 10 (can view them with my 3D monitor). I think it works beautifully with animated movies like Tangled, Bolt and Up - most of the live-action stuff I watched was pretty disappointing, but in Gravity and The Martian it was really nice as well.
