Because it's a closed event for the press, and all of the press that are going are going to be physically in the time zone where the event is taking place. It's also an American event, so why would they display the times in a time zone from outside the U.S?

oh... its not something they stream... bummer, I thought it was. I assumed there would be something since people where asking for the time of it.

The Verge will be live blogging so hopefully we'll hear something when it goes live:

Live blogging... so maybe a few pictures and some commentary on whats happending at the event.

*sighs*

They should just livestream it instead.

Yeah, if it were a livestreamed event then I'd agree that they should put the major time zones in the information, but sadly...we won't get a livestream...

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Will have to settle with the live blog. Can't wait for more info about psvr...

Proudest Platinums - BF: Bad Company, Killzone 2 , Battlefield 3 and GTA4

I'm ok with a live Blog. Actually a bit better to me because I'm at work and I've never worked for such a large company with such a horrible internet connection. Also live Blogs tend to put the details only so I don't have to listen to useless information. Basically a live blog is a TLDR version of the event and I like that.

I am surprised that their is no livestream, announcing a releasedate during a livestream is very effective.

It's so god damn close guys!

I'm surprised that the price hasn't leaked yet. Maybe Sony hasn't given retailers the price already to make sure there are no leaks?

I was thinking the same thing the other day. How have there been 0 leaks from todays event? I didn't even think that was possible in this day and age...I assume the punishment for leaking something must be pretty dire...

Hmmm well if the safety warning for PSVR within 3.5 was any indication then yes
